Jessica and Paul's Planning Journal: Getting close, 12 days to go!!!

You look beautiful in that dress, great choice, you will be a stunning bride. I love the bridesmaid dresses too! All of your details sound great! I have a co worker getting married the same day as you and we were talking today about how close it is! Congratulations!

Just wanted to say that I love your engagement ring. My main stone is a sapphire because they are by far my favorite stone.

I love the Save the Dates.... really cute! Also, Demetrios gowns are great, they have such beautiful detailing.

You looks beautiful in the dress.

And so does your daughter.

Both dresses are beautiful! Congratulations!!

Love the dresses! Congrads!

I love your dress!!! Very beautiful!

Thanks so much! I can't wait for my next fitting so I can wear it again! =D

Thanks! I know, I can't believe in less than a month I will be married. =D I can't wait (but then of course, at the same time I am thinking slow down, there are still things to be done!!) :rotfl2:

Sapphires are my absolute favorite! Everyone always asks if I was born in September and nope...I'm a January baby. But garnets (sp?, lol) are ugly! (no offense to anyone who likes them :thumbsup2 ). All of my real jewelry has sapphires in it. =D

Thanks again to all for reading my journal. I hope you are enjoying it.

There are a few other photos I need to take/upload regarding the wedding (I forgot about posting my cake!!) but until then...my favorite part....the honeymoon!

The first part of our honeymoon we are going on a Carnival cruise. I am really excited about this since I have never been on a cruise and I got my very first passport (sad, I know, LOL, but the only countries I have been to are Canada and Mexico (and only in Mexico for a 2 hour train ride right over the border) and at the time I traveled to them, I didn't need a passport).

But as excited as I am for the cruise, I am even more excited for DISNEY!!!! :mickeyjum

Which can be kind of bad, cause I don't want to wish my cruise away, but I really can't wait to get back to Disney. :thumbsup2

We are taking the cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. When we return, we are going back to the airport to rent a car and we'll drive to Orlando from there. One small pit stop at Paul's (DF) sister's house because she lives right outside Ft Lauderdale on the way to Orlando and she is taking our 2nd week clothes home with her from the wedding. :thumbsup2 There was no way I was doing :laundy: laundry on vacation!

We'll be at disney from Sep 29 - Oct 4. Now my fiancee is not Disney obessed like I am. At all. He has been there - once with me in Dec 06 and then I think once before like 20 years ago and if he never went back he would be ok with that. He is just that kind of guy. But he knows that I love it so he is going for me. =D

So here is our itinerary. Please feel free to let me know what you think and to add suggestions. When we were there at Christmas, we were constantly go go go cause we wanted to get in what we could and beat the crowds. I promised this trip I would slow down and relax more. :rotfl2:

Saturday: Arrival day. Not sure what time but the boat gets back in at 8 am. I am hoping for early afternoon. We are staying at Poly. Hoping for Tokalau with a balcony. Don't really have any plans for this night...maybe just check out the resort, go to DTD or ride the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We have 6 day park hoppers. Have to remember to pick up those Just married buttons when we get there. My sister already picked up the groom and bride ears for me.

Sunday: Animal Kingdom, Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (we are on the DDP).

Monday: Epcot, Dinner at Le Celier (yum, my favorite). Want to really explore World Showcase, have never done so in my trips before to Disney. I plan to buy the passport...I am a really big kid, LOL

Tuesday: Breakfast at O'hana's. 1/2 day at the Magic Kingdom. We have tickets to see Cirque!

Wednesday: I booked the steam train tour for my dear husband to be. He is a complete train geek, even works for a model train company. I hope he is surprised and impressed (he is not easily impressed! lol) I haven't decided yet how to tell him - any suggestions? I think I have to tell him the night before...someone suggested to me that I tell him we have a ADR at Magic Kingdom that morning but if we leave Poly without eating, he will be one grumpy man when he realizes we arn't eating at MK either.

After the tour, plan to spend the day at MGM. Dinner at 50s Prime Time.

Thursday: Will probably relax this morning. Going to the Halloween party tonight so we'll get some more MK time later. Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.

I want to dress up in the worst way. Originally I wanted us to be Daisy and Donald Duck but the costumes are big, heavy, hard to fly with. So I am now thinking that we will be mouseketeers. I can make the tee shirts using iron ons. I have actually been spending a lot of time on the Creative Designs board and plan to make a bunch of Just married tees. When I get them done, I will definitely post pictures!

Next week I am chaperoning band camp - my daughter is in color guard, so I hope to have the shirts done the week after.

Thanks for reading, and I hope it wasn't too boring since I really didn't have pics yet. But I will have plenty of pics when I return! LOL

Jes

PS: I realized tonight that I can't post my bridesmaid gifts cause my sister comes on the DIS sometimes and she is my matron of honor. =D I will post after I get home from the honeymoon!

Your itinerary looks great! And count me in as another sapphire fan!! I decided to get a diamond-and-sapphire wedding band. (My e-ring is just diamonds.) My birthstone is diamonds, but DF's is sapphires, so I figure I can take advantage of that! ;)

Thanks! Hey, at least you can justify your sapphire love, :rotfl2: My fiancee's birthstone is Emerald (he thinks...he is a May baby) and mine is garnet.

Sorry I haven't posted in so long...I will update sometime this week with final details. (I was at band camp this week with my daughter...she is in color guard and I went as a chaperone...I will tell you, it was neat to see some things first hand, like the show coming together and the kids were great, but the adults???? Esp the women...I tell you, it was like being back in high school!!!!!)

I can't believe I am getting married in three weeks!!!!!!!

Talk soon,
Jes

Just catching up on your journal. Your itinerary sounds great. I'm sure your DF will be surprised with the tour, I have heard a lot of great things about it. Going to Cirque sounds amazing; out of all my trips I've never made it. I'm thinking about splurging to see it when we're down for our wedding. I'm sure the next couple of weeks will just fly by :goodvibes

Thanks! I am so excited. Less than two weeks now. Three weeks to Disney, since we are going on the cruise first. I am excited about the cruise, but more so about Disney. I am trying hard not to "wish" the cruise away because once we are at Disney our honeymoon will be more than half over and we'll be that much closer to having to return to "real life"!

I can't believe there is only 12 days to go!! I am sorry I haven't updated the journal more lately, not sure where my time goes!!

We finally picked all of our music for the reception. We tried to pick songs that meant something...

Introductions: Just You n Me - Chicago
First Dance: Bless the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts
Father/Daughter Dance: What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
Mother/Son Dance: Unforgettable - Nat King Cole
Anniversary Dance: From Here to Eternity - Michael Petterson
Cake Cutting: It's Your Love - Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
Bouquet Toss: Wishin' and Hopin' (preferably from My Best Friend's Wedding)
Garter Removal: You're the One that I want (Grease soundtrack)
Garter Toss: Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
Garter Replacement: Jepardy theme
Last Dance: Must Have Done Something Right - Billy Currington

I am really excited about the anniversary dance. Our DJ suggested we do this since a lot of our guests are already married. He invites all married couples to come up to dance and then as the song plays, he will ask couples to leave the dance floor based on how long they have been married. The idea is to have the longest married couple still standing. My fiancee's family has a lot of long lasting marriages...his aunt and uncle will celebrate their 52nd anniverasary next month. I think that is amazing and hope that we live long enough to reach 50 years (remember I am 31 and he is 42!!!)

I have a lot of details to finalize today. I guess today more than previous everything is really starting to feel real. I have a florist appt at 2 pm and my 2nd dress fitting at 6 pm. We applied for our marriage license on Thursday and it is ready for pick up today. (In NJ, you have to wait 72 hours). I also have to call the caterer with my final head count which is 101 including the bride & groom.

I will have more pics to post later. I am making Disney Tee shirts for our vacation and plan to take pics of the card box I bought and decorated and of course I will take more pics at the dress fitting tonight.

Thanks for reading!!
Jes
