I booked a few months ago to go to WDW the first week of November. A friend of mine said "Oh that's Jersey week, schools in Jersey are off for a few days and they get a big crowd".

Has anyone ever been this week and what should I expect? I am flexible when i can travel so I may just change if it is going to be a madhouse.

If you are flexible I would change. You will see a noticible difference that week.

I haven't been there but I can tell you that you do hear about alot of trips. The convention is the 5 and 6 of november. Alot of the school districts have half days the m-w of that week for conferences some give off for election day so parents don't have to take the kids out of school for the whole week.

On the whole it's a slower time I think. It may just seem like there are a lot of people because they are all coming from the same area..

We used to go down during Jersey Week - like most "holiday" times, earlier in the week is the best - as you got toward Wednesday, the crowds picked up noticeably. By Friday, it was actually quite crowded and we had waits of 60 minutes or more on rides. Sunday/Monday/Tuesday of the beginning of the week was great, though. No long waits, often just walked right on to many rides.

So do you think a week earlier or a week later?

A week earlier and F&W is still going strong. I think a week later will have less going on, but with cutbacks at WDW, probably fewer park hours. If you'll enjoy F&W that may be better. Also, MNSSHP would be fun, too! I think the Halloween/harvest decorations are great at the MK. If I had the choice and didn't want to go Jersey Week, I would much prefer the week before. In '07 we went Halloween week with the DGC and it was lots of fun

Jersey week is definitely busier. We usually go this week every year. As it coincides with a number of other events (search the threads there are plenty about Jersey week), it is very busy on the weekend. The crowds drop right off the next week.

Having said that we go often at this time and enjoy it very much. You just have to plan for it. We tend to just head to EPCOT for F&W so we avoid the weekends.

We've done Jersey Week twice now.

As others have noted, the weekends are busier, but personally, I thought the mid-week was fine.

We tend to avoid the EMH parks, however, so that may have something to do with it.

I hope to go again that same week this year; I'm not a-scared!! :goodvibes

If you go the week before, you can enjoy the Halloween stuff/MNSSHP/F&WF.

If you go the week after, you can enjoy the Christmas stuff/MVMCP/Spectacle of Lights, etc.

I would take any (or all!) of the three if I could!

it is manageable, lots of jersey folks. the last friday and sat are croweded. no more soap operaa festival that last weekend, might help the crowds. great weathere, keep the trip

Jersey Week is probably the busiest week of the fall.

If you are looking for less crowds, go the week after. The week before is Halloween and Food & Wine festival.

If you are truly flexible, go the week BEFORE the week of Thanksgiving. Crowds are real low and the weather is beautiful (has been for our two times) and sometimes you get to see the Christmas Decorations. Never waited for a ride longer than 20 minutes and that was Soarin!
