Anyone Know when "Jersey Week" is this coming November? I would assume that it is the same week as election Tuesday, however that would make it run into Veterans' Day.

So with jersey week and veterans day it will probably be busier than normal? I am second guessing our ressie for 11/5 but will probably keep it because I don't wantckids to miss more school. Would rather go the next week though.......

We are doing the same thing as you because of the kids. I am anticipating the crowd level to grow as the week goes on. I have been there before for Jersey Week and Veteran's Day--but they were not in the same week. Veteran's Day is quite a busy day with many Florida visitors/students. Just be prepared for crowds to get worse around Wednesday and almost packed by Friday. Also, do everything you really want to do earlier in the week! HTH!

Lo and behold kids now saw they dont mind missing more school. I am seriously considering changing our ressie to avoid double whammy of jersey weekend and veterans day. Going to call next week and see what the availability looks like for the week after.....glad I didn't make flight reservation yet!

We stayed at BCV this past year during jersey week.

During this week food and wine, as well as halloween night and other then the weekend days in epcot it was not busy at all.

Great time to go.

I agree with the above poster. We have gone during Jersey week for the past several years, and using TourGuideMike for park days and avoiding EPCOT on the weekends, we haven't had a problem with crowds. I was just wondering what Veterans' Day would add to the mix.

I have been wondering the same thing too and now my hubby is all anxious about the trip and wants to change dates. I don't want to mostly because I don't want the kids to miss more than three days of school.

trust me you'll love that time of year.

you'll probably get both food and wine plus christmas theme.

don't switch dates

Thanks! I think we will too. After much discussion we are keeping our ressie at ak but we also waitlistrd at BW and BCV. Even though hubby loves epcot too, he doesn't want to stay in that area because he thinks the resorts themselves will be too crowded. But if one of our wait list comes through we will take it of course!

We'll be there that week and have been there for Jersey week many times. For us it really wasn't bad crowd wise.....but I will be bringing my own crowd of 20. Don't get in line behind us:)

It will be busy but not "horrific". This has been a favourite week of ours to go for many years. The weather is usually very nice. Not too hot and usually very sunny with no rain.

As far as the resorts being busy, they are rarely not full and this really shouldn't be an issue. They will however, be packed with visitors from Jersey! You can definitely hear it in the voices around the pool.

Thanks Brownie, I will try not to get behind you! We were there two years ago during Jersey week and didn't even realize it. I guess my husband is just concerned because (Jersey week, Veterans day, and last weekend of F & W). So, with all three being while we are there he thinks we are in for huge crowds. I am not worried. I know we will have fun no matter what!!!!

That is what I thought too, but since we couldn't not change our ressie right on the 7 month mark, my husband argues with me that means that resorts are full....I said well maybe only full for the two bedroom dvc. I did not ask about any other rooms.

We really wanted to go this week, but suspect we won't be able to find any availability during "jersey week". Instead we are hoping to go the next week, the 13th-20th, or 12th-20th...something thereabouts. We did this last year, and actually caught the last night of F&W and that was enough--with the kids we cant spend as much time at F&W anyway. So, if we can catch the last night and then that week should be nice and quiet. We've been at BC the last two years that same week, and though the weather was a bit cooler last year we found the weather and lack of crowds to be perfect. The only downside was that last year it was a bit too cool in the late afternoons to really enjoy the pool, but the year before it was hot the whole week.

Either way, early Nov is a great time to go.

We were at BCV last year that week too Nov 15- 21 and loved it. I agree it was a bit cool. Parks were not crowded though. We went back and forth to Epcot a lot and loved being able to walk there. Epcot has always been my favorite park, but my husband fell in love with it too after this last visit. He doesn't care about the F & W festival. He just enjoys walking around the countries and eating dinner there!

You could swim most afternoons, but the year before (same week) we were swimming at night. Last year we went in the hot tub a few nights over by the villas, and I remember running back to the room b/c it was cold. Parks were not crowded at all, but believe it or not the year before they were even less crowded. We too went back and forth a lot to Epcot, my wife loved that aspect. We almost went every night for dinner. We ate in Mexico, one night grazed at F&W, ate Hibachi in Japan and one night in Morocco. Last years trip basically confirmed for us that we wanted to buy at BCV. I am on my way right now to wire the money and fax the documents. We are hoping to get a reservation in Nov...keeping my fingers crossed. Funny you say that about your husband liking the walk around the countries and eating there--he sounds like me! I like the multitude of dinner options, along with the choices at BWV and the Cape May buffet (I love seafood).
My only hope this year would be slightly warmer weather, but I'm not complaining if it's the same!

Us too, our son wanted to go in the hot tub a couple of evenings near the villa and we were cold too! Yes, you do sound a lot like my husband. We ate in Italy, France, and China. This year we want to try Norway and Germany. When we first bought DVC my husband wanted to buy at BCV too, but I was leary about by resale so we went through Disney and bought new at AKV plus we got a good deal and extra bonus points at the time too. Now, that we have owned for a few years I feel more comfortable with the whole ownership process and if I could do it again I would have bought at BCV instead - so congrats to you! Still, we are not sorry that we bought in and LOVE it!!!!! When our kids are older we will not worry so much about "having" to go certain times and just go when we want to. :) We also at at Cape May for the first time and my husband loved that too! He wants to go back there for dinner whether we stay at the resort or not. We also at at the Big River Grille at BW on our last day and enjoyed that meal too. Maybe you won't have a hard time getting a reservation if you are not looking for a 2 bedroom. Good luck!
