Jersey Week 2006!!

November 4 - 10. While all the teachers are conventioning in Atlantic City and making everything here as crowded as July 4th weekend, we're esacping to WDW. party: party:

I am going in October so everyone else from Jersey can go during Jersey Week. While you are all gone, I will fix the budget and get our tax rate lowered. Don't tell the suits, but they are taking a paycut and won't be multimillionaires for much longer! :thumbsup2 Their paycut will be sponsoring Jersey week 2007!

Just changed our dates and now we'll be there 11/9-11/12!! We're from CT but we drove through Jersey on our way home from Maryland last week ;) .

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to check back in with the group. I just made my ADRs and I got everything I wanted even with a group size that ranged from 6-9 people!
:cool1:

Turf Club dinner-our arrival day and staying at SSR. Can't wait to try it!
Hollywood and Vine char breakfast-I made this at 180 day mark.
Tony's Town Square lunch- we loved our meal last time and Lady and Tramp.
Boma breakfast-never been here or to AKL. Nice to do something new.
Le Cellier dinner-I made this at 180 day mark. Always have good luck here.
Coral Reef lunch-haven't been in years. Think the kids will like it. Worried b/c
of the negative reviews, but we aren't terribly picky.
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch-we enjoy lunch here more than dinner.
Mama Melrose's-always yummy. Hopefully Fantasmic rehab will be done and
can enjoy the show.
Chef Mickey's breakfast-departure day, but a nice way to end the trip!

Most times our group of 9 was split at 2 tables. I asked to be split 7 and 2 because my aunt and uncle may not stick with us for every meal and its easier to eliminate their table for 2 than to redo all the ADRs.

See you all there! November can't come soon enough! :woohoo:
I forgot... we are on the dining plan.

I forgot to say we'll be staying at POFQ, and although we tend to prefer counter-service meals with out 6 year old and then-4 year old, we do have an ADR for breakfast at CRT on Nov. 8.

I keep checking to see who's gonna be at WDW during Jersey week (even us honorary Jerseyites can call it that). Saw at least two DIS people at the Poly when/where DH and I will be! (JerseyGirl and wasmws).

Hey wasmws, I'm from Northern VA too!!!

Only a few days there for our Wedding Anniversary but ... got the ADRs I wanted Le Cellier (11/8), Tony's Town Square (Lunch 11/9) and Kona (11/10). Love KONA!!! My DS and her DH are Florida residents and will come to KONA to eat dinner with us so I am excited about that!

Also like JerseyGirl I am into Tonga Toast and love to stop for breakfast at Kona too!!! I hear they serve it at the temp Capt. Cooks now too! :sunny:

Bye for now - GREAT THREAD!

Laughing cause I had to edit my post so you all didn't wonder WHY my ADRs were for April (4) instead of Nov!!! I have no IDEA what I was thinking!!

Add us to the Jersey Week Crowd...

Will be there from 11/4-11/11. Staying at VWL for our first trip "home" as DVC members.

We'll be purchasing the dining plan but as of now, I've only made 1 ADR...for Le Cellier of course! We're also going down for free dining in September (our school district isn't starting until 9/20 due to HS construction) and we're doing some favorites and some new places so I want to wait a bit before committing to everything. Although, I really think I need to do them now and then if I want to switch, try later on.

Hoping to see many Jersey families during our trip.

Should I be sick over the fact that the "planner" in our groups is attempting to make our ADR's this week or early next week! As I said before we'll be there Nov. 9-17... We're on the dining plan and hoping to get ADR's for:

Nov. 10 - Alfredo's, dinner
Nov. 11 - Breakfastosaurus
Nov. 12 - LTT, dinner
Nov. 13 - Sci-Fi, dinner
Nov. 14 - Supercalifragilistic Breakfast (we too want to get a look at GF!)
Nov. 15 - Chef Mickey's, dinner
Nov. 16 - PlayHouse Disney Breakfast, Fantasmic Dinner Pkg. (H&V)

Keep your fingers crossed for us and send some pixie dust! It's my 5 year old cousins first trip to WDW, so we're hoping it'll be extra special!

I really think you'll be ok. I had no problem getting every place I wanted, and at the times I wanted (within 15 minutes). Good luck!

poohbear919 - As long as you are fairly flexible with your times you should be just fine. All except for 2 of our ADRs were available and the 2 that weren't were scheduled 10 minutes later which was no biggie.
I can't imagine 10-30 minutes being that big of a deal considering we are making dining reservations for over 3 months away ;) heck, I don't even know what we will be eating for dinner tonight :rotfl:

Good luck and let us know how it turns out :thumbsup2

Thank you to JerseyGirl114 and kimwim8 for your replies... I'm feeling better about the ADRs now. It's actually my uncle who will be making them in the next week or so... I promise to let you all know the end results! We are flexible people - so anywhere from 10-30 minutes in time difference won't be too huge a change for us! We're trying to get the breakfasts for later 9 or after and the dinners are mainly around 4:30-6:00 - so we're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping the pixie dust pixiedust: is with us when he calls!

We will be there Nov 5 - 10. Staying in the All-Star Music Suites. It is the first time going as a family.
November can't come soon enough!!

Well after all my stress over ADRs for this vacation, my uncle and aunt finally called to make them! All ended up well! Thank you to all my fellow DISers who reassured me that the ADRs would be okay!

We had to be flexible mainly 10-30 minutes with our time requests and one we needed to move by an entire hour, but we're happy and set! Now it's just waiting for November to get here!

I am glad to hear that it all worked out fine for you! :cheer2:

Our gang from Philly is going 11/5-11/12 and I am soooo ready for this trip!!! November could not get here soon enough.

We started out with a party of 8 adults and a 3-year-old child, but three adults had to drop out of the trip. :guilty: That's the only time that making APRs VERY early can backfire. As I learned a few weeks ago, if you have to change your reservations, you need to create a new reservation and cancel the old one. What a pain! BUT we still got all of the APRs we wanted, so it sounds like there still are plenty to go around.

We're staying at All Star Movies popcorn::

ARPs for:
Plant Hollywood - just because of the meal voucher
Crystal Palace character breakfast
Poly Luau
Biergarten
Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner
Teppanyaki

We're also going to spend a night sampling the goodies at the Food and Wine Festival. I can't wait!

Hi!

I am from New Jersey, and I will be arriving late on Friday, Nov. 3, and I will be leaving early Monday, Nov. 13. It is my first "non summer" trip and my 1st stay at a value (ASMu).
Can't wait to see all you "Jersey Girls" (and guys) there! :grouphug:

Hopefully the crowd level won't be too bad! pixiedust:

Anyone else heading to WDW for Jersey Week 2006?? I'd love to hear who's going (besides me)!!!

If you want, I can keep a running list of usernames and dates on the first post to refer to.

I'm sorry if there is another thread about this already, but the search function wasn't working for me...

We'll be there from 11/1-11/6 - but I just wanted to say I haven't been able to search lately either. I've been looking for messages about the Food & Wine Festival, but no luck! But have a good time during Jersey Week! We've been there then too, found the crowds to be amazingly Jersey-ful and wonderfully polite and friendly ;)

Hi parrotheadlois! You might be the smart one....beating all of the rest of us Jersey-ites by a week! :rotfl:

I'm so glad we can all relate to planning and excitement and all of the fun stuff coming our way!
