Jersey Week is the week that the NJ teacher's convention is held, usually the 1st full week in November. Kids in NJ will have off school at least 3 days for the teacher convention (this year it was supposed to be 4 days off, since kids were off on election day too), so lots of families from NJ take off the rest of the week & head for Disney. This year teacher's convention was scheduled for Nov. 8 & 9, but it was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. It really stank for us since we were already at Disney when we got the email that there would not be school holidays that week -- so instead of missing 1 day of school, my son missed 4 days.
I don't know if a lot of families missed going to Disney because of the hurricane, but this year I didn't think the crowds were too bad. But usually it does get pretty crowded during Jersey Week.
