Forgot to add - Wildwood does not require beach tags.

And Cape May has some really good high end restaurants.

Both places do not have chain hotels or restaurants - all local businesses with character, which I like.

Go to the extreme northeast corner of North Wildwood..around 2nd or 3rd streets....the beach is narrow there. At high tide the ocean almost reaches the seawall. At low tide you can wade out forever and there are interesting sandbars to explore.

I'd never thought I'd see it, but the beach in the main part of North Wildwood is actually receding. It's still Saraha sized, but Morey's Pier had to install a seawall last year because the ocean reaches it at high tide. The sand is migrating to the inlet between North Wildwood and Stone Harbor.

if you want a nice family friendly, relaxing vacation - LBI is the place for you....

if you want to live like "the situation" go to seaside.....

....while I would NEVER go to Seaside Heights again, Seaside Park (especially the southernmost tip) is a lot quieter....don't care for the boardwalk there [Heights] though....

I have been going to Cape May for the last 30 hyrs. it can be expensive during July & Agu. check out www.capemay.com and check out the rentals. My girl friend has a condo in Ocean City and loves it. OC is really a nice family area but so is Cape May. Your smart to start planning now because they do fill up. Summer Station on Ocean Ave. is a great condotel for familiess. we have a house in holgate, and love being at the end of LBI. nice and quiet, and no "boardwalk" for the kids to see all day.

my vote is definitely for LBI
