Vinny, vidi, vici?

Season 4 of Jersey Shore will shoot in Italy, MTV announced Tuesday.

"While the stateside Jersey Shore locales have become iconic for our audience it's really the constantly evolving dynamic amongst the cast that keeps them coming back each season and Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us," Chris Linn, MTV's executive vice president of programming and head of production, said in a statement. "The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can't wait to see whaterupts as a result."

During their trip to the motherland, the gang — who endured criticism during the first season for perpetuating Italian stereotypes — will visit Vinny's family for a "famous Guadagnino dinner" and "turn the beautiful country upside down," the network promises.

Jersey Shore episodes 3 & 4: Do we love them or hate them?

This is the second time the MTV hit has relocated from Seaside Heights, N.J. Season 2 filmed in Miami before returning to New Jersey for the third season. Last week's episode earned 8.9 million viewers to set a new MTV record for most-watched series telecast ever.

Production on Season 4 is set to begin in the spring.

What do you think of the move? Is Italy GTL-ready?

Oh. My. Lord.

I have no words - just imagining the heck they'll
raise over there. Super.

when I first read this article, I thought about the Amanda Knox case. Such a scary thought. :sad2:

I thought about that, too!! When i was in college, we went to Mexico. I remember the company that organized the trip talking to us & saying, "You're not in the US anymore. You screw up here & land in jail, and you're in deep trouble.". Obviously, Italy is different than Mexico but I would think the same advice applies. Actually, it might be nice to see them get their come-uppance & spend a few nights in an Italian jail. That sounds mean, & I don't wish them harm - but they need a " come to Jesus" moment.

my thoughts exactly! Reality will hit them hard over there if they step out of line. Of course, I'm sure the only thing MTV cares about are the ratings.

They have to get them out of the US, where they are recognizable, and put them somewhere no one knows them yet. Way more fun that way...and better ratings.

I feel bad for the Italians having to be exposed to that group of "people" They are low class trash types, exploited by MTV, and not indicative of NJ people, never mind Italian Americans.

But ...they are all getting RICH off of their theatrics. ;) Amazing how we glorify these type of people :sad2:

Wow, if you thought New Jerseyans were upset about the stereotypes we received because of this show, can't wait to see how the Italians react. I'm thinking this will border on declaring war against Italy. U.S./Italian relations will never be the same. :rotfl2:

Nice, sending in the lowest common denominators to the land that fathered the Roman Empire and is the birthplace of the Renaissance... I bet most of the cast can't even spell it. This should be good:rotfl:

I read this and i had a vision of Snooki being drunk and falling down the stairs at the Colosseum. It should make for an interesting show though.

I also just wanted to say, I'm from Jersey and I am Italian American, and I don't find the show offensive. I've never once seen anyone act like this in all my summers. It's just all an act. My friend has met the Situation once and when she did he was pale! and extremely nice.

It's truly disgusting isn't it? I have never watched this show, only seen clips and that's enough. I saw a clip on The Soup yesterday where Jwow peed behind the bar because she didn't want to go downstairs to the bathroom:scared1: I was so grossed out. I was young and stupid once also and drank more than I should have but never in a million years would I have behaved like these skanks. They make me sick and the fact that they have become 'celebrities' makes me even sicker.

What an embarrassment.

Americans talk about Jersey Shore guidos....but Italians will see American trash in all its glory.

The season should be sub-titled "The Guidos Return to the Motherland"

If we're all lucky, they'll never return.

OMG that's crazy! I agree with punkin, they had to get them out of the US although I wonder if anybody watches the show overseas?

I wonder if they'll take suggestions. I'd like them to go to Singapore next season. :thumbsup2 A public flogging would bring in ratings.
