Day 3 MK and Epcot /Sat Jan7th
WE got up early today to get to the MK when it opened.
Of course the curse o the bus luck struck us again and the MK bus was the last to show up. We got there late.. We headed straight for Space Mountain and managed to walk straight on too the ride. We were hungry and had not had anything to eat.It was too early for lunch so we still had an hour to kill. We were goin to eat at Pinnochio Village House so we went to some rides in Fantasyland. We went on Peter Pan and Mickeys Philharmagic.. By then we were just too hungry so we had lunch at Cosmic Ray's. I almost got ribs but I really wasn't sure of how good fast food ribs would taste. I ended going for boring and having a cheeseburger..Ed had a chicken wrap that he said was really good . I would probably get that next time.. It got rid of our hunger,but it's just standard fast food. The other half had to sit in the front room and listen to the space alien/lounge singer,and I have to admit,there were moments when I chuckled.
After lunch I made a quick call to my mother to check on the kids. I love my mother but she is one of those people that hates it when others are having fun and I think subconsciously tries to stress them out.. She only had one kid at the house because the other 3 were at a friends for the weekend. Anyway,she sounded like she was being tortured. When we called her the first day she had only been with the kids for an hour(they had been at school) and she sounded like she had run a marathon..She didn't even say goodbye,just hung up the phone..This from the woman that BEGGED to stay at our house while we were away. But enough about mom
We then headed for the TTA..I promised a friend I would ride it for her. Not a bad promise,I love this ride. We videotaped the whole thing. WE got right off of it and walked on to the COP..I LOVE this ride..It broke down when we were in the last segment and we had to watch that part twice. After that it was time to head to EPCOT's WS for some shopping. Bobby had fogotten to bring an extra videotape for the camcorder so it was decided that he would head for EPCOT ad we would go back to POFQ and get another tape,then head for EPCOT. I had one stop to make first..The Candy store..Oh yeah!
I have to buy malted milk balls, Bobby makes his M&M bag and Ed goes on his annual quest to see how much taffy he can pack in his bag, and let me tell you Ed can pack the taffy.. You see they sell bags by the taffy and as long as you can close the bag you can fill it as much as you want. Ed has become a master at this. It's more of an art form really. He strains and pushes it down and pushes some more..Sometimes he recruits strangers and teachs them how to pack the taffy.
The kicker..He will eat maybe 4 pieces and the rest sit until the kids eat them. Personally,I think it's a sickness. He needs a 12 step taffy packing program. So if one day ,you are at the main street candy store and you see a bond man about 40 packing the taffy and a blond haired ,mid 30's woman with a frustrated look on her face,give us a wave.
Of course the luck of the bus is with us and Bobby waits for more than an hour for us in Mexico.. I love the mexico section. It's such total immersion when you go in there.. We went on the ride and got some salsa. Well Ed thought it was salsa but really it turned out to be BBQ sauce. I thought about having a Margarita but passed it up. we did put on sombraros and blankets and videotape us being generally goofy.
It was then time for Norway.. My main goal in Norway was candy and I got some.. We then all donned viking hats,shields and swords and attacked the defenseless troll and got it all on video.I didn't notice until later but Ed stuck his sword up the trolls nose.
So it was on to China..Bobby went in search of a new set of swords,which he bought. I got 6 bars of the 1$ soap and got a nice new pillow for the living room chair..
Next was Germany. Bobby wanted a couple of very manly looking steins and picked them up. I of course got candy,and wandered around looking at Hummels. My mother collects them.
Next we went to Italy where I got candy. Yes ,I got candy there already but someone,ahem, ate them.I also picked up a pizza making kit with pizza stone and that thing you put the pizza in the oven with.
We passed right on by the American pavilion,which I always do. I needed to go into japan and get my DD chop sticks and a bowl. My 14 YO DD is into all things Japanese and I had promised her this..I also got some Pocky and some marble soda.
By then it was time to head for Morocco and our dinner ADR"S at restaurant Marrakesh. We wandered around the pavilion for a while and sat down on the cushion and pretended to have tea while we videotaped. Of course Bobby had just turned the other way when Ed knocked over the table.
So it was time to head for Marrakesh. It's a beautiful place with great food. ED and I had beef brewats,which were good. Ed was very surprised with the combo of cinnomen, powdered sugar and beef,but he really liked it .ED and I has Shish Kabos with rice and they were excellent. Bobby had this Night in Casablanca - Roast Lamb Meshoui, Chicken Kebab, and Seafood Bastilla .He said this was his favorite meal of the trip.
Now you have to understand nothing gets between Bobby and his food. He's like a human vacuum cleaner. He stopped eating for 5 minutes when the belly dancer came out.
After dinner the plan was to have a half yard of beer at the Rose and Crown. They have wanted to do this ever since they saw Dan Connor do this on Roseanne. We got there and they were out of half yards. It was just as well as it was time to go back to the rooms and watch the Patriots win a football game
