jellyrolls?

It's not just something that we do every trip, it's one of the things we most look forward to.

If you've ever found yourself singing along with the radio in your car, you will love Jellyrolls.

Absolutely agree. My wife and I love it! Jellyrolls is a great time with some seriously talented musicians.

DH and I love Jelly Rolls! We live about 2 hours away from WDW. We take quick overnight trips just to go to Jelly Rolls.

i dunno. Me and my partner went in 2009 and i think we are just too British! :P
We stayed for about an hour and decided it was 'an experience' but we wont be going back!

If you like audience participation and a sing-a-long then it for you :cool1:

I absolutely love jellyrolls! It's very interactive so if you don't mind getting up and singing and dancing you'll enjoy it. If you'd rather just sit there and listen to the music without much participation you probably will not enjoy it as much, it's really what you make of it!

Been there a couple of times years ago.....thought it was quote expensive.....10 buck cover plus Disney's prices for drinks.....I'm not one to sit and nurse one beer for the night so for some piano playing...we just as well skip it....

It's been a long time since we've gone, but we enjoyed it more than Pat O'Brien's in NOLA. The requests were too "Southern" and we felt like we didn't fit in. At Jellyrolls, people are from everywhere and knew how to request a good piano/singalong song.

Howl at the Moon in Chicago was not as good either. Jellyrolls set the bar for me.

Our last trip there we decided to try it out and we had a lot of fun, and we plan to go back when we are there in 4 weeks. DH and I love music and it was fun to listen and have a few drinks.

When I worked at Disney World on the College program a couple years ago, Jelly Rolls was a weekly tradition for us. We went at least once a week and we never had a bad time. If you want a table, I suggest going early. It can be expensive but when I was there, they had a nightly special that came in a huge cup and trust me you didn't need more than one of those! Jelly Rolls remains one of my favorite places at Disney!

If you are into Music you will have a blast. DW was never a big drinker so she was never impressed with the bar scene. It took me an hour to convince her into going to Jellyrolls the first we went. Now we are both absolutely addicted to the place! Here is a little write up I did that should give you more information.

Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar & sing-a-long located on Disney’s Boardwalk. It is open 365 days a year. The doors open at 7:00pm and the piano players start at 8:00pm. Generally last call is around 1:30am or so and they close at 2:00am. You must be at least 21 years old to enter and there is a $10 cover. With the exception of free popcorn there is no food served, just alcohol. Jellyrolls is a smoke free establishment. Your hand gets stamped when you walk in, so you are able to leave the bar and come back without paying a cover if you choose to go outside for a cigar or cigarette.

As previously stated the bar opens at 7 and the players start at 8. By 8 o’clock the tables up front will most likely be taken and by 9 o’clock all the tables on the floor are generally occupied. So if you are looking for a good seat I would suggest getting to Jellyrolls no later than 8:30 or so. Besides all of the tables on the floor there are a number of chairs (without tables) around the one side of the floor. So if you do get in a little later at least you will have a chair on the floor to sit. Along with the tables and chairs on the floor, they have a number of bar stools and a few tables above the floor by the bars. These stools are available for the most part until around 10 o’clock during the week. The weekends, like most bars seem to be a little busier. But with it being Disney, you can never tell what the crowds will be like from one night to the next. So if you plan on getting to Jellyrolls after 10 o’clock, plan on dealing with standing room only. This isn’t horrible by any means. As interactive as Jellyrolls is, they have you in and out of your seat all night anyway.

There are currently a total of eight piano players that rotate throughout the week. There are four piano players scheduled per night. The first set of players start at 8 o’clock, the next set starts at 9 o’clock and they rotate every hour. Every single piano player is extremely talented so regardless of who is scheduled you will be pleased. Some people have their favorites, but all the players are fantastic in their own way.

When you first enter Jellyrolls your server will leave a stack of napkins on your table along with a pen. What are the napkins for? Requests of course! Just write your song request down on the napkin, toss in a buck (or a few) and drop the request on one of the two pianos on stage. Now just sit back, enjoy the music and wait for your request to be played. In the rare case a piano player doesn’t know the song or they already played the song that night, they will either offer you the money back or ask for another suggestion. If by the end of the night they did not play your request, the players will ALWAYS offer for the guests to come up and reclaim their cash.

Obviously the more you tip, the faster your request will get played. A twenty dollar bill is known as a Jellyrolls FastPass and your song will get played immediately. You can also pay to have the song currently being played stopped if you don’t like it (just make sure your tip is higher than the original request). This comes in big when you have guests from New York and Boston, it’s a great rivalry!

The piano players are as follows:

* Michael – Plays a lot of Billy Joel
* Ray – Plays a lot of Elton John and a very funny Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
* Scotty – Knows a ton of kid’s music. Specialty – The Rainbow Connection (absolutely hilarious).
* Mike – Amazing personality and does a fantastic Disney Medley.
* Tommy – Plays a lot of the classic rock and some country.
* Daniel – GREAT version of The Who’s - Baba O’Rielly and Aerosmiths - Dream On.
* Johnny – Knows a lot of 80s and current top 40 stuff.
* Matt - Newer guy, knows a lot of Billy Joel and some new stuff.

That is in no way a complete list of what they will play. I have heard everything played from Frank Sinatra to Sir-Mix-Alots – Baby Got Back.

As for transportation, you can obviously take a bus from any of the parks to The Boardwalk Resort. There are taxis available at any resort that will take you directly to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. If you are going to Jellyrolls directly from Hollywood Studios or Epcot you can take a ferry (Friendship) to the Boardwalk Resort. At the end of the night you have two options. One option is to take a taxi back to your resort. There are always taxis readily available in the front of The Boardwalk Resort. There is also a Disney bus at the Boardwalk bus stop at 2am that will take you from the Boardwalk Resort to any other Disney resort on property.
