I see the Peeps thread, but I wanted to talk jelly beans too.

I only like the "better" brands, the stuff at Walmart or CVS is wretched. My favorite is black licorice flavor. Anisette. But other fruity flavors are good too.

Some of those cheap Walmart brands label the product as "Jelly Bird Eggs." Are they 'bird eggs" made of jelly, or how I interpret it, eggs of the "Jelly Bird"?

Happy Easter.

I use them to exercise the left side of my face so that it does not seize...I have to move my jaw and and tongue to extract the stuck sugar....taffy was just to difficult and rather boring flavors

I love good jelly beans and black ones are definitely the best. I wonder if someone still makes those nasty Harry Potter jelly beans?

i used to live down the road from the jelly belly factory. best deal ever was to go there and buy bags of their 'belly flops'-the not absolutely perfectly shaped jelly beans that at the time were sold in multi pound bags for around 25% of the per pound cost of the perfect ones (HUGELY popular gift at office parties, for out of town family members and fellow disney cruiseline passengers we got acquainted with on the dis boards).

I really dislike traditional jelly beans but LOVE Jelly Bellys. I seem to like the weird flavors too, like Beer and Popcorn. I actually don't care for real beer, but enjoy the Jelly Belly one. Cannot stand licorice flavored ones.

Popcorn Jelly Belly beans are my favorite.

I usually get the bag labeled Kids Mix though, as they don’t contain the juicy pear flavor, which I think tastes like vomit, and other flavors like coffee that I am less fond of. (I like pears, but those jelly beans are vile.)

I've seen them sold at dollar-type stores in smaller bags for (of course) a dollar.

The factory tour is no longer free though. That was the really cool thing - that it was absolutely free and there are always samples, and sometimes rather generous samples. Also - the Budweiser factory tour is no longer. They removed the gift shop and the bar.

Wow, didn't realize they charged for the Jelly Belly tour now. Or that Budweiser tour is gone.

Yep.

  • Tour pricing:

    • All ages are welcome to take our factory tour! Prices are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. Ages 2 & under are free. Active military receive 20% off their ticket price by showing military ID.

FAIRFIELD — Car shows, concerts and the Clydesdales may be a thing of the past as Anheuser-Busch is no longer offering factory tours here. The gift shop has also closed.
The twice-monthly concerts featured area acts and raised money for the nonprofit Families Helping Families.
“Unfortunately, we made the decision to discontinue our tour center operation,” wrote Samantha Ross, director of corporate communications for Anheuser-Busch, in an email. “This will allow us to focus resources on additional community activities and programs. We are always focused on simplifying and streamlining our business, and focusing our resources to invest in growth.”
Ross noted the change did not affect any other part of the brewery operations or workforce.
“The reality is that our tour center at the Fairfield brewery had not been financially viable for some time, and so tours have ceased to continue (as of Dec. 22, 2018),” she wrote.

bummer. it was an annual field trip for my kids when they were in elementary school. it's also one of my youngest's fondest b-day memories. back then you could book a birthday party that included a decorated private room and private tour. the kids loved the giant dancing jelly bean!
