Does anyone know how to make a jello shot? I don't have any idea, but would like to give it a try for our Trivia Night this Saturday. Thanks!:D

6 ounces Jello (large package)
16 ounces Water (boiling)
6 ounces Water (cold)
10 ounces Vodka
Mix the jello mix with the boiling water until the powder is fully dissolved and add the cold water and alcohol. Pour the cooling mixture into either shot glasses or paper cups. Shot glasses are more attractive, but drinker can turn the paper cups inside-out to more easily eat the alcoholic jello.

Thank-you very much. Am I correct to assume it would be difficult to get really "drunk" on these? I want them for fun but I don't want to worry about anyone driving home. Thanks again.:D

I make jiggler shots rather than jello shots. Just follow the recipe for jigglers, except replace 1/2 the water with the alcohol of your choice- pineapple jello is really good with coconut rum!:drinking1
I find it easier to add the jello directly to the boiling water and mix until all the powder is dissolved, take it off the heat and let it cool for a bit, then add the alcohol and chill. Once it's firm, cut into cubes. Jiggler shots are so much easier to serve!
Some other nice flavor combos are lime jello with tequila, orange jello with peach shnapps, and strawberry with rum.

One last question, can I use suger free jello? It would save some calories for us girls in the group! We will have to be careful not to drink too many!:teeth:

Super Jello Shots

Recipe By :Marybeth
Categories:Beverages

1 package or sugar free jello any flavor
2 Cups boiling water
2 Cups alcohol your choice

To make Fancy Jello Shots, put the alcohol in the freezer ahead of time
to let it get nice and cold. Make the jello as directed on the package
using the boiling water, etc. Substitute the chilled alcohol for the cold water in the recipe.
Use different flavors and alcohols to create drinks with the jello-shots. Lime jello
& tequila(Margarita), orange jello and vodka(Screwdriver), strawberry
jello and rum(Daquiri),etc...Hint use 2oz. plastic souffle cups to make the
jello shots in(available at any party store cheap). They work best.
For easier serving place them on a tray in the fridge. Bring out when ready to serve.

NOTES : No counts provided.

You can get really drunk on jello shots. Really really drunk. Be careful.

Yes, you can use sugar-free jello no problem. You don't even need to change the recipe!:hyper:

I have to agree with PhillyBeth's recipe...the other recipes taste STRONG to me.

I make jello shots all the time and keep them in our fridge, and a friend actually owns a bar that serves jello shots as their main attraction, we both use this recipe. Follow the directions to a tee about the boiling water, but when it comes time to add the cold water, add 1/2 as much liquor instead...I use ice trays sometimes, other times I use souffle cups. Or, if it just for me and DH, I pour it in bowl and eat them with a spoon.

Pineapple or orange jello with Malibu or Parrot Bay are the bomb..
Strawberry jello with silver rum or vodka is also a favorite. Lime jello with tequila...the possiblities are endless...

Just another observation, if you follow my recipe, then you will have only 4 oz of liquor divided up among approximately 20 shots....You'd have to do a LOT of shots to get drunk...

Jello shots can get you quite drunk...they're like candy going down and before you know it you're naked playing strip trivia. ;)

Not that I would know. I am a complete

Amaretto with cherry jello...mmmmm.

I always substitute 1/2 of the cold water with the alcohol. Can still get a buzz on, but, takes a bit longer to get to the "naked strip trivia" stage.

1 small package of jello
1 cup water
1 cup alcohol

I like watermelon jello and watermelon pucker, apple jello and apple pucker, cherry jello and cherry pucker. Any jello with vanilla vodka is great too.

We used to use cherry jello and use hot damn schnapps or blueberry jello (ow whatever the blue kind is) and blueberry schnapps. But it has been so long since we used to make then that I don't even know if those flavors of schnapps are still available.

Here are some of my favorite jello shot recipes (Not that I would ever, ever try them. I'm a good girl, I swear.):

Cherry Cuba Libre Shots:

1 small box Cherry Jell-O (regular cherry -- not black cherry)
1 cup boiling Coca-Cola
1/2 cup cold Coca-Cola
1/2 cup white Rum

Sangria Shots: (these are very, very stiff -- they make good jigglers.)

One small box lemon Jell-O
One small box Orange Jell-O
One cup boiling water
One-half cup red wine

Lime in the Coconut Shots:

1 package lemon Jello
2 packages lime Jello
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 can coconut milk or juice
2 cups coconut rum
2 1/4 cups water

For these, you have to mix them a little more carefully because of the lime juice. Boil the water and take it off the heat. Slowly stir in the 3 Jello packages, then add the coconut milk or juice, and the lime juice. (Why yes, you do put the lime in the coconut. :teeth: )

Wait 3-4 minutes and stir in the rum, then pour into whatever containers you're using.

omg - I haven't had these since college! We used to just make them with Vodka (1 cup water, 1 cup liquor, package of jello-o)

I can't WAIT to try the lime with tequila! I NEVER thought of doing that!

Word to the wise...never EVER use Goldslagger (sp?) in your jello shots...quite the kick they give :scared: ...but the little gold flecks suspended in the jello are quite cool!

My favorite from college days is the Slimeball

Ingredients:

4 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
4 oz. vodka

Procedure:

Add 8 oz. of boiling water to lime-flavored gelatin; stir until dissolved. Then add the liqueur and vodka; stir. Chill until set.

Enjoy-these are delish!!!!!

as for vanilla vodka -- it's good even without the jello. ;)
