Jedi Training Question

We're kicking off of our trip to Disney World by visiting Hollywood Studios and my five-year old daughter wants nothing more than to do the Jedi Training. I have two questions to try and plan for this. Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated!

1) I know the park opens at 9 the day we're going, but what time should would be there and what time do they start letting you line up for Jedi Registration.

2) Is there anyway to know which character you get to fight? She loves Darth Vader, so we'd love to see if we could end up on that stage.

Get there early so you can go straight for the sign ups. It's a number 1 priority for my 2 sons, so I book an 8am H&V breakfast so we can get in the park before 8am for a 9am opening. I've done this twice now and it works perfectly (except last week our 1pm show was cancelled due to the rain).

Last week the top stage, which had the older children, caught Vader. The lower stage, with the younger crew, caught Kylo. I don't see how you could be sure of which stage or how to get her in a specific spot, but you could ask before they line up.

Thanks for the info. Any guess on what time to be there if we don't have an early breakfast reservation? (I'm wishing I'd thought of that earlier).

I'm not 100% sure because the 2 times I've done it, I was in the park around 8am. I would think that if you're at the gate 45 minutes before opening, you should be fine. You go down and take a left toward the Indiana Jones show and line up for JT signups.

When we did it last year, we got to the park right when it opened and ran back to the sign-ups, we still waited about an hour to get signed up, and they closed off the line about 15mins after the park opened, so get there early and book it. The kids don't really have a lot of choice over where they end up on stage, and therefore over who they fight.

We got in line 8am for a 9am open and were maybe the 15th family back at the far-left tapstyle. After opening, as soon as we were through we went directly to the sign-up line and were maybe the 80th family in line. Sign up starts immediately. We signed up in about 15 minutes, with plenty of spots available but nothing really early left - we chose late in the day (6pm or so) because that was preferable, temperature-wise, to the middle of the day.

From what I saw and what I've read - absolutely no way to determine who you get to fight. As per my avatar, you can see that we got lucky and my son fought Darth.
