We're doing Minnie's Breakfast at Plaza Inn on the Friday after the Disneyland 5K at 8:40 a.m. and were curious what our best strategy for getting the little with us registered for Jedi Training would be.

I've read the overall tips - I've honestly never done Jedi Training before, so I want to make sure we get her registered.

Should I move our breakfast back to, say, just after the park opens and we can race to get her signed up and THEN eat breakfast? Or maybe sit down and order, and then when the park opens they can get her registered? Do the characters come around pretty quickly?

My 9 year ago old son just completed his Jedi training a few weeks ago at Disney World. I assume it's just as popular at Disneyland. We were at Hollywood Studios 30 minutes before it opened and went directly to the sign up area once we got in. By the time we signed up several of the time slots were allready filled by people who got to the park even earlier than we did. I'm not familiar with Disneyland, but I'd say get there as early as possible to sign up for it and plan your breakfast for at least an hour after the park opens in case you have to wait in a long line to get signed up.

My 5 year old did the Jedi Academy in late April. Just as Alpineslide said, my husband and father were there at rope drop along with my son (the child must be present to sign up) and he got a 12:40 time. The child also has to be there 40 min prior to show time. It actually ended up taking all of our morning and into the late afternoon. That said, he had a blast and we had fun watching and video recording him.

Was this at World or Land? How long did they have to wait to get a sign-up when they were there at Rope Drop?

It was at Disneyland. I just asked my husband and he said the line was long. You sign up at Launch Bay and the line zig zagged from the ground level up to the platform.

Awesome. Thanks! This was VERY helpful!!

We were there on 6/24. We didn't sign up for training until around noon, and they only had two times left ( I think 3:30 and 4:30). We did the earlier time because we wanted to see the parade. There was no line to sign up then.

Thank you!!

I read in a blog that they will allow sign up during EMH for up to half the slots then save the rest of the slots for rope drop. But I've never seen it mentioned here. Does anyone know if there is truth to this? Or if they used to do it that way maybe? Thanks!!
