Jedi in Training?

Please can someone tell me what this is? My youngest who will be 5.5 when we go again LOVES Star Wars!

I think you are talking about the Jedi Training during Star Wars Weekends at MGM in May/June. My son got picked for this in June. They pick about 30 kids - they want the ones who are making a big deal about wanting to get picked. DS8 was wearing his Anakin costume (he was the only one is this-it's not necessary) and sitting on his dad's shoulders waving his hands back and forth to get picked. Also, he was on the front row. It took 2 shows for him to get picked. Anyway, they give all the kids a brown robe and a light saber. Then they teach them a few moves. Then the storm troopers, Darth Vader and Darth Maul come out and each kid takes a turn fighting either Vader or Maul. It's really cute. Afterwards, the kids get a goody bag with a Star Wars Action Figure and a certificate naming them an official Padawan.

They had activities for adults as well as kids. Our son took lightsaber training, faught Darth Maul and participated in a trivia contest. My DH participated in the adult trivia contest. And yes this was during the Star Wars weekends.

My son was chosen this past June trip and this was the highlight of his trip. He fought Darth Maul and I got great pics. He still talks about the Jedi Training Academy. The whole Star Wars weekend events was a blast.

It's only for kids but they do have an adult trivia contest and the WWTBAM is Star Wars themed for the weekends. The Star Wars weekends are for about 4 weekends in May/June, although they added 2 additional weekends this year.

DS(5) was also wearing his Anakin costume and was the last kid picked on the day we went. It was the first show of the day and we were one of the first there. He got to fight Darth Vader. He was also in a kids trivia contest and made it to the last question. (They really didn't have any "winners" for the kids trivia, everyone got a prize) He's already taking about next year!

Ok so we will be going in Dec, I assume they don't run one then! Oh well, sounds like a very cool time!

I have never really seen any Star Wars stuff going on except during Star Wars weekends. They used to have a few characters around a looonnnnggg time ago, but we haven't seen anything in the last few years. During the year, the only SW stuff is Star Tours and Tatooine Traders (the store). You can take a picture sitting on one of the Speeder bikes from ROTJ and see one of the AT-AT walkers (I think it's an AT-AT....I'd have to ask DS LOL).

He doesn't walk around and take pictures but he does have a meet-n-greet during SWW.

What are some of the examples of the questions, for kids or adults?

A radio station I used to work for hosted the premieres of the SE Star Wars movies, and as a Jedi-nerd myself, I was asked to come up with the trivia questions for the events.
