Can I wear jeans with a dressy top and heels in the dining room, or is that a major no-no? I went on the DCL in August and just wore sundresses. We are going in January, so now I am worried!

Yes that's fine. No problems at all.

It's not a major no-no. The guy next to our table on the Dream in May came in Chuck Taylor's, Dockers pants, and graphic t-shirts every night. To me, thats where I would draw the line since it just takes away from the ambiance for some people.

There were a couple of nights on my med cruise that I wore jeans with a jacket or nice button down. Its totally cool, except on formal night (on longer cruises). For me, Pirates night was the best night for jeans if I had to pick only one.

Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, the only request is no tank tops, swim wear or shorts for dinner in the MDR's.

The decision is left up to the person dining there as to what they wear other than those.

This is a hot topic on the boards. People get really passionate about the DCL dress codes

I've worn black jeans and white jeans....I've never been able to make myself wear blue jeans, but that's just me. It just doesn't feel right, when I'm eating in such nice dining rooms.

Dressed with a nice top and heels, you'll probably look great!

Totally agree! I wear black jeans as much as I possibly can....they can be dressed up or down and don't even really look like jeans! Formal nights and Palo are the only times you'll find me in anything other that my jeans (not blue though).

I've only been on one cruise and that was the disney wonder back in 2002. I wore my long white dress for the first night becaue i ate in trittions and wanted to dress up. But i think black or even white jeans are okay even for formal night but i would dress them up. Also i would press them to me it just makes them a lot nicer have a great cruise. But no blue jeans in the dinning rooms at dinner

Yes you can. You cannot wear jeans to Palo or Remy but they are not prohibited in the dining rooms. Not even blue jeans. They're allowed on cruise casual nights.

If you wear blue jeans to Palo you will be asked to go and change. There was a guy at the brunch once, arguing with the manager that he didn't have anything other than blue jeans. They still wouldn't let him in.

I felt like a total snob on our recent Wonder cruise. Everyone here went on and on about dressing for dinner so I packed accordingly.

I was the most overdressed person in the dining rooms. I didn't bring gowns or anything, just dresses and heels. Several of our tablemates wore cargo pants and shorts and jean shorts.

I have "dressy" (very dark) jeans that I was going to dress up with dressy tops, heels and jewerly. I hate to be too overdressed and be the center of attention!

A little off topic, but I was surprised when I called to cancel our Palo reservation for 11/6 on the Dream since we forgot to bring DH a jacket, I was told dockers and a polo shirt would be fine. We kept our reservation and had a wonderful dinner.

My point is I think passengers want a higher standard than DCL.

I went to Palo dinner on 11/15 (6:00 p.m.) on the Dream. There was one man dressed in a cotton short sleeve button down shirt and slacks and several other men dressed in long sleeve button down shirts and slacks, no ties or jackets. It wasn't until we were almost finished our meal that I saw men in suits entering Palo.

The CM I spoke with did say they are strict with Remy for suit, but not Palo. We were on a B2B on the Dream and I was calling to cancel as soon as we got on the first cruise and our reservation was during the second one so it wasn't a last minute cancellation.

I'm guessing that jeans for pirate night are ok, right? :confused3

Jean's are okay in the regular rotation dining rooms on any night on cruises 5 nights or less. The longer cruises have a formal night wear it might not be fitting with the ambiance.
