Buttons out, Snow Globes Back in at JCPenney

JC Penney has just announced they are bringing back the ever-popular free snow globes this Black Friday!

Last year, JC Penney replaced the snow globes with promotional buttons, a move that was not terribly well received and ended up angering a very vocal group who have been petitioning for the return of the snow globes for more than a year.

Luckily for them, JC Penney listened and is not only bringing back the snow globes for their Black Friday 2013 sale, but are also offering select rewards members the ability to receive a special, retroactive 2012 snow globe, so that there is no gap in their collection.

Sounds like that vocal group may have been disney fans.

Oh, rats! I loved the buttons. Got many ten dollar ones and won $250 in the second chance drawing. A snow globe just doesn't hold a candle to cash for me, bu I understand others will feel differently.

I loved the buttons too! I would stop by on my way home everyday after work to pick a couple up. I won tons of certificates. It was an amazing boost to my shopping budget. Bummer!

So glad the Globes are back!!!

Of course now the collection will still be missing the 2012 - I have all of them from the first batch in 2000 (there were four different ones the first time).

I would have much preferred they bring back the buttons again this year.

I L-O-V-E my JcP Mickey snowglobe collection and was bummed that they didn't have it last year. But then again, that kept me in bed at 4am not in line at JcP. And now there will be no 2012. BUMMER!

And yes all the JcP snowglobes are similarly unattractive.

I loved the buttons. I earned so many $10 certificates plus a $50 gc. I won't even step into jcp if there are no buttons.
