I went in August with my niece. We ordered our ussual platter with the beef and chicken. I felt the meat looked odd and low quality. The chicken was a funny color. The beef was very fatty. This used to be my favorite.

My niece refused to eat hers because it looked so off. She is normally not fussy like that. I think their quality is starting to go down hill.

I ate here back in 2005 or 2006 and thought that the chicken was low quality and odd looking.. the portion was very small too..SO I resolved to try other CS places in EP..

My DS16 ate there in June. He said you could get better at a mall food court!

You guys are crushing my hopes! lol! I was really looking forward to eating the CS in Japan. I love Japanese but couldn't fit Teppen Edo into our schedule!

I always order the Udon noodles which I love. I do sometimes have minor problems with the service, though.

We detest that place, I mean who could enjoy fatty, greasy, grisly dark meat or mystery meat???

I had some Tokyo Roll there a few days ago...not the best, but it never was. Still pretty good.

Sorry you don't like it here, but my whole family LOVES Yakatori! We just ate here last week and our meals were great! I get the chicken dish. DD always orders the Udon noodles, and DH and DS order the combo plates.

We don't find the meats "mysterious" at all. I guess we're just folks who grew up eating real chicken - you know, on the bone and everything! - so it doesn't look "odd" to us. If all you eat is cleaned, sliced white breast of chicken, I could see where you'd find the meats different looking.

Plus, the ginger cake is one of our favorite desserts, and DH likes the Kirin beer.

I agree. We ate there and my husband joked that it was cat. That is bad, I know, I'm sure it was just really low quality thigh meat from a chicken.:scared:

With enough Kirin, I would like the place too!:lmao: :lmao: Don't hit me, I was just making a joke, I'm glad your family had a good meal there.:)

Seriously not okay with us - I was looking at menus last night and all their chicken is listed as thighs or drumsticks. We won't be dining at Yakitori. But, at least they're honest!

I always eat the Udon noodles and have found them to still be good.

As we've all said here on the boards - that's what makes Disney so fun. Everyone can have an opinion - and if we all liked the same places, we'd never get a table!

Was the worst food in Disney that we ate our last trip. Love Teppan but hate Japan CS

I used to really like the Yakitori House, but don't go there (hardly ever) anymore. I don't like dark meat chicken anyway, and there are other decent options in Epcot.

fyi, most traditional oriental dishes r made w/dark meat:confused3 i.e. fatty to keep moist (exception of stuff that that food courts & super buffet places offer, def not authentic;) )

imo, i'd rather have the odd sized dark meat than the thin pieces of chicken that many restaurants r serving that looks pretty, yet indeed r mystery meat

only issue we have is that the offering @ this CS is rather skimpy, based on my teenagers son's needs, & we have to order extra for him:laughing:

I detest dark poultry meat so I never order meat there, ever. But the noodles and rolls are pretty good, and so is the ginger cake if it hasn't changed since last year.
