I am not sure where to post this quesetion, so I am sorry if this is not the correct place. My DD insists that we try another japenese steakhouse during our October trip. Last year we did Tepan Edo, but she thinks it would be nice to try one of site. For now we are staying offsite unless we get a great deal and then I will consider switching, but for now we are booked in Lake Buena Vista. I would love to here if you guys have tried an offsite Japenese Steakhouse. I read that there is a Benihanas at the Hilton next to downtown Disney. Is this a good choice or would it be better to go somewhere else? We will have a rental car,so getting around isn't a problem. Thanks

Kevin on the podcast recommends Benihanas at the Hilton...I would trust his taste buds!! As a side note, the podcast is great! My guess is your experience there will be much better than the one at Teppan Edo. It's Japanese hibachi-lite, to me.

Thanks for the information. Tepan Edo is similar to the hibachi place that we have here, so I didn't expect much different. Actually last time we went to the one here at home I was a little disappointed with it as I was missing the vegetables. Has anyone tried any of the other offsite Japanese Steakhouses?

We always visit Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Lake Buena Vista while we are WDW. If you go early during the week (before 6 pm, I think), they have early bird specials for less money. It is one of our favorites and we eat Japanese all the time.

I second Benihanas, we've walked over from Downtown Disney a couple times and have never been disappointed.

This is our all time favorite restaurant.
Kobe has incredible food, bigger portions and where most other tepanyaki style restaurants only do white rice or fried rice, Kobe does rice and noodles with your veggies (and ofcourse the soup and salad yummy!!).
You can order extra veggies, extra rice and extra noodles for a small fee and have a bunch of left overs for the next day (or midnight snack!;)). They always give us extra 'yum yum' sauce, aka white sauce, to take home. oooh I'm craving it now!

Their restaurants are always clean, the staff are friendly and accomodating...we frequent the one in Tampa since it's near our house, but we've been to the one near Disney too and like it as much as the Tampa one.

KOBE all the way!:thumbsup2

I have tried a few of the Kobe chain in the area and did not care for them. I think that Benihana in the Hilton in DTD is much better than Kobe.
