I read in '96 about a restaurant in Japan that served tea and you could stay to watch illuminations. Anyone done that? :confused3

That is the Matsunoma Lounge, which is a Sushi Bar and their menu has some good choices.

Matsunoma Lounge. Wonderful food (especially if you are a sushi fan) and wonderful service.

You may run into a couple of problems, though. The lounge is relatively small, so you may be out of luck looking for a table around Illuminations times. Also a lot of people will stand on the outside balcony right outside the restaurant for the show (as it provides a quite good view of the show). I don't know if this effects the view from the restaurant, but is something to keep in mind. (Near the Japan pavillion is my personal favorite place to watch Illuminations- even if you do decide to pass on dinner in the lounge.)
