I was wondering if anyone has tried the new Katsura Grill counter service menu in the Japan pavilion yet. I am curious about the new items on the menu, particularly the Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake with vegetables). I don't think that item was on the old menu and I am not familiar with it. It sounds good, has anyone tried it?

My family ate at at Katsura today. It was a nice QS choice. Myself and DD had California roll, one son had Beef Udon noodles, DH and other son had teriyaki chicken. We all left the restaurant impressed.

I ate here on Saturday night. I thought the Chicken Teriyaki was surprisingly good. Everyone else in my party loved the Udon noodles. We sat outside and the lighting was rather poor but the food was quite tasty. Miso soup was steaming hot. (I didn't eat it so I cannot comment on the taste.)

Both the Disney Food Blog and Allears have reviews with pictures.
There are pictures of the Japanese pancake in the Disney Food Blog review

I checked out the recommended websites and now I know what a Japanese pancake looks like! Based on everyone's feedback, I'm really looking forward to trying the new menu. Thanks everyone!!

DD11 and I split a combination plate a few days ago. It had beef, chicken and salmon. I liked it enough that I would go back. DD11 did not like the teriyaki sauce that was on the beef, chicken and salmon. I have to admit, they did put too much teriyaki on everything. The beef was also very well seasoned with salt and pepper. I didn't notice any seasoning with the chicken and salmon. The veggies and sticky rice were just OK.

The dessert was some kind of green roll cake. It was pretty bland.

I really liked the outdoor seating. It was had a nice view of the park and it was quiet.

This is good news! I loved Yakitori House-it was my favorite restaurant in ALL of WDW-and Katsura sounds nice, too.
