I'm thinking about heading down for a week in January - from what i've heard it is the least crowded time of the year. I know they had room only codes earlier this year for this past January - does anyone remember about what the rates were??? Just curious - i'll go even if i have to take a AAA at POP or something - but was wondering what to expect. Also anyone here that's been in January - i'd love to here how it was - thanks....

My husband and I went last January and plan on returning this one. We loved it.
The park was only crowded on Saturday and during the marathon (by crowded I mean 30 minute waits for most rides) so we took those days and did other things. The weather was cooler (and we got rained out twice) but it still averaged 75 or so. If weather is a concern, I have heard January is very unpredictable though.
Hope that helps some :D

We went the the end of Jan. to the beg. of Feb. 2003. There weren't any crowds. We didn't have to wait in any lines and the only time we used fast pass was for Peter Pan on a Sat. night. As for the rates, some room only codes dis come out and we payed $45 or $49 at the All Stars. I think the moderates were about $79.

thanks - could you tell me where you stayed - what kind of disounts you get

Hello.
We went last year the first week in January, it was the best time in the world to go, it felt like we had the parks to ourselves during the week, you could basically stay on the rides and ride them again, and the weather was nice we had to wear a small sweater in the morning but by the afternoon it was tshirt time, and at night it was so nice to wear a sweater and walk around downtown disney. I believe we got a room really cheap we stayed at pop century it had just opened and i think we paid 59.00 per night. i am definitely thinking of going again in january, we just came back from going in June and that was the worst the crowds were long and it was HOTTTT.

I stayed at CSR water view in January for $89.00. I didn't find all of the rides to be 'walk-on' all of the time, but close to in most cases. The weather was warm--mid 60's to 70's while we were there. We had one very chilly and rainy night when I wished I'd brought some heavier clothing, though, so don't forget a sweatshirt or a sweater!

We've been the past three january's, brrrrr......

Way too cold to swim, in fact this year I didn't even bring any shorts. Sweaters and jeans.

We were there Jan 29-Feb 3 last year. It started off on the chillier side with a little rain, like highs in the 60's. The weather gradually warmed up until our last two days, it was in the 80's and my daughter could swim.

Crowds were minimal the first 4 days (all 3 MK mountains had less then 5 minute waits) but the last two days were suprisingly crowded. Monday was busy at Epcot, though Epcot swallows crowds well and it wasn't a big deal at all. Tuesday at MK really suprised me a lot. We went from 5 or less minute waits, to 20-40 minutes (the mountains were all about 60 minutes!) That really floored me - but we had gotten there early and used fastpass, so it was no big deal.
