January Savings?

Hi everyone! So we are sitting down and crunching some numbers for our January 2014 WDW trip. This year we took advantage of the play, stay and dine. We were able to stay and extra day and have a deluxe dining plan. Is this a normal deal that usually happens? Or was it for the fantasy land expansion? Is disney known to offer deals in January? I'm a newbie but I do remember seeing the discounts this past jan. I believe you had the option between a % off your room or free dining. I also think they came out around October. GL!

The discounts vary from one year to the next. A few years ago, there was an awesome "Pay for 4, Get 7" deal that included a gift card when you arrived. Then other times, there have been room-only discounts and no other type of package offer.
