Hi
I just saw on another site that both Test Track & Buzz will be down in January when we will be there. I cannot believe they would have 2 very popular attractions down over MLK Weekend!!! Also my 1 son rides 5 things in all of the parks & you guessed it; those are 2 of them. I'm actually thinking of staying home w/him & letting the rest of the family go - it seems like alot of money for admission to only go on 3 attractions. (He is autistic) I'm Soooo mad!!!

Sorry that you're in the same boat with us, but look at the bright side: They do rehabs when we go in January because the crowds are the lowest, so we'll end up waiting very little for the 90% attractions which are open.

I know, I just read that in my mousesavers newletter.......... I know another little boy who is NOT going to be happy!!!! I'm so disappointed for the little one's. My DS LOVES Buzz, and that is his favorite ride. I'm really upset at this news........... :(

Oh well, I guess that's why it's the value season...... still doesn't make me happy though!!

I have a little boy who's throwing tantrum's over Buzz being closed too.
He's my husband. :rotfl:

sad, but true.

I gotta say, I am ticked. Test track was bad enough. My DS has never ridden Buzz as this is our first trip, but he loved MIB at Universal & was really looking forward to this!

POOP, POOP, POOP!

Test track will be down our entire stay :badpc: (just want to hit something) . The good news is that Buzz Lightyear is supposed to reopen while we are still there on Feb, 9  .

Last year when I was in CA Disneyland, Space Mountain and the Matterhorn bobsleds were both down, and Thunder Mountain was threatened to go down too. Imagine that, and all in October during Haunted Mansion Holiday time.

LOL, DH doesn't know yet, but he'll be joining your DH........... My DH and DS both love riding that ride, it's a "guy" thing they do together........... :confused3

I agree, Poop, Poop, Poop!!!!

Our DS and DD are both pretty upset that Test Track and Buzz will be unavailable during our trip. We also have a good friend of ours going along on the trip and I was so looking forward to giving him a good beating on Buzz!
Oh well, I'm sure there will be another chance in the future. We're planning a return trip in December of next year, although our friend probably won't be on that trip. ::MinnieMo

A good friend and I are doing the marathon weekend together. She's only been to MK once and nver seen the other parks. I am giving her the complete "MrsR123" treatment including character dining. I was so bummed that she'll miss Buzz!

I was also very unhappy to see that both Test Track and Buzz are supposed to be down. We are taking our 6 year old for the first time in Jan. and he would have LOVED Buzz.

I saw the news in the Mousesaver newsletter but when I go to the Disney site and look at the refurbishment schedule on the calendar neither of these are mentioned as being down in January. Is there hope that Mousesavers was worng?? I am guessing Disney is just not posting it so they don't turn people off. But I have hope!!

What are the dates that these will be closed ? We are going in January and the buzz ride is the only thing we could use to talk our son into wanting to go to Disney...he would rather stay home and play in the snow

Disney should build 2 of every attraction. That way, when one closes down for refurb, the other can stay open.

And we'll all be willing to buy two admission passes for each day we visit the parks! :rotfl:

While it's a big disappointment to many, the rides have to be maintained at some point or another, so there will always be someone who is disappointed..

Try to focus more on what "will" be available as opposed to what "won't".. It's Disney - it's gotta be good!!!!!!! :flower:

Hi :wave2:
I just got mousesavers news about Splash Mountain shut down from Jan 23-27/06. Thankfully will be there on the 19. I hope they plan on at least having a soft opening for Expedition Everest :wizard: !

Did you think they would do all these in the summer during the busy season? January is the "off season" and perfect time to do these repairs. That's the risk you take when you schedule around the off months.
