January Rates at Portofino Bay

Hello, All! DH and I have never been to Universal. Thinking of adding on to end of New Years Eve WDW vacation and staying at Portofino Bay nights of 1/7 and 1/8 leaving on the 9th. Historically, can I get a discounted rate for that time and if so, how should I go about it? Do they have codes that come out like Disney? Is there a particular web site I could check out that offers good rates? How about packages? Are there deals to be had? As you can tell, I am completely clueless and would appreciate any help. Hi. I just checked at universalorlando.com and I got a rate of 264/night for your dates. I couldn't find any discounted rates, but you might want to call and ask (1-800-beastar) and ask for APH (annual passholder discount-you would need to buy one, around $117), AAA (if you are a member), ENT (have to have the current book/card, think they are now available at entertainment.com), or FAN (fan club, your company must participate).

The APH seems to get the best discounts. I wish I had known about them before I bought our tickets. I paid 89/person for tickets (good deal for 5 days at both parks), but if I had known I would have gotten only 2 of them and 1 Annual power pass for 117. Those few extra $ could have saved me a good amount on my Feb '05 ressies at RPR.
