Another early question today, because I'm not around for the rest of the day. I'm going to leave question one open until tomorrow, to make sure everybody who might have been away over new year has a chance to answer it.

Still on the subject of great beginnings,

What was the first:

Oy. It turns out that different sources have different answers for these questions, which I didn't realise when I posted the question, so I'll be accepting several different answers for some of the questions.

(a) Disney film to use stereo sound?

Fantasia

(b) Disney film to use the Xerox method?

Sleeping Beauty experimented with the Xerox method, but 101 Dalmations was the first to use it throughout. One point for either.

(c) Disney film not to use the Xerox method?

This was poorly worded on my part, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is technically the right answer (it being the first film, and the Xerox method not being invented yet), but both The Black Cauldron and The Little Mermaid claim to be the first to replace the Xerox method with computers. One point for any of these three.

(d) Disney animated film to use computer technology?

Depending on your source, either The Rescuers Down Under or The Black Cauldron was the first.

Who would have thought animation history was such a thorny subject? Here's hoping the next question's more straightforward

Answers on a postcard to the usual address please :)
