Is anyone interested in doing a Photopass share for January? I've organized one last year in October and it worked out pretty well. I can pre-pay for a Photopass CD and take care of copying and mailing out the discs. I'm going to try and keep the group on the smaller side because once we start editing, the site really slows down once we start adding in photos.

I will be at WDW from January 8-18th. So anyone who has similar trip dates should work out.

Let me know if you're interested! :)

I am interested too !

I will be at DisneyLAND in Jan 16-21 but I searched the boards and found you can add WDW and DL photopass accounts together (same cards, same numbers, etc...)

Let me know !
Julie

Hi Julie! I don't have any experience with the DL photopass cards so I'll send an e-mail to the Photopass site later today just to confirm.

So far it's just the two of us :)

Hi BunnyFoo,

We might want to post this in the "regular" section (ie not the Canadian one). I'm sure we'd get more takers and it's (surprizingly) about the same price to ship and envellope to the US as it is to Canada.

(funny story: I went to the post office last week to ship a small package from Quebec to Ontario and it was 9.62. The lady ahead of me was sending a slightly larger package to the US and hers was 5.60 !!)

The US ones fill up fast, I'm sure we could get a bunch of takers.

i would be in, not sure how it works. I am there the 9-23.

Hi there! The way a share works is that a group of DIS'ers get together and split the cost of purchasing a Photopass CD. Not sure if you're familiar with the Photopass program - basically the way it works is that in the parks, you can have your picture taken by a Photopass photographer. The photographer will then give you a card which keeps track of your photos. You can reuse this card and "collect" more photos each time you're in the parks and see a Photopass photographer. At the end of the trip, you would use this card to claim, edit and purchase your photos.

If you do this by yourself, you could be spending $100+ (US). As a group, we would use a single account to claim everyone's photos and split the cost of the CD. Everyone would have a chance to go into the account to edit their photos and once that's done, the disc(s) would be delivered to me. I would make a copy of the disc for everyone in the group and ship them out.

The important thing to remember about participarting in a Photopass share is that you have to enter your Photopass card numbers onto one account. If you create your own account and enter the card numbers there, you won't be able to participate in the share.

I hope that helps to explain things. Let me know if you have any more questions or if you're interested in joining.

Hey Julie! I know the postal rates are strange that way. I've had the same experiences. For the share, I'm only looking to add another 2-3 people. I find the Photopass account gets unwieldy the more people there are. Once everyone starts making edits, the account can get really slow because of all the thumbnails at the bottom.

thanks. i am familier with the program just wasnt sure about the logistics of the share program. I am in for sure, what do I need to do? Anything before I get back?

No not really. I'll probably ask everyone to pay once we have our group set up. I had been waiting for the $$ to improve before pre-purchasing the CD but I have no idea if that's going to happen. It seems the dollar just keeps going down everyday.

sounds good. you can count me in for sure. So all we do then is when I get back go to the site with the info you set up? Let me know if you need money. Ryan

Hi -- we are going January 31-Feb 3. Not sure if that is too late of a trip for your group. We would promise to be all edited on our pictures by Feb 5th though!

Let me know if there is room for us -

Thanks,

Lauren

Hi everyone! Given the current exchange rate, would you like me to pre-purchase the CD today? I have a US$ credit card so it won't be as bad - we'll only get hit on the day I have to pay my credit card bill. We still have another two and a half months so the rate could improve but I'll admit I don't know much about rate fluctuations etc.

Hi Ryan! I'll add you to the list.

Hi Lauren! Should be okay. Everyone has 30 days to claim their photos and then another 30 days to edit. If I give out the account name and password when I return on the 18th, we'll be okay. I'll add you to the list :)

Bumping up! Is anyone else interested in joining? :)

I would be interested in the photopass if it is still available and you don't mind shipping to the US. We'll be traveling from Jan 23-Jan 28. Oops I mean Jan 21-26.
