We are currently booked on the January 7 Eastern. The school schedule has changed and the children now will get out of school May 19 versus June 6 or 7. This makes the May 20 2006 Western look appealing. The only real issue is the total cost is $1200 more for us (two cabins). My question... is would the stronger possibilty of better temps be worth the extra money (Jan vs May air and water weather)? Also, with not having to worry about school we would go to WDW the week following if we go in May. But that is staying Memorial Day weekend through the first weekend in June. Would it be to crowded at WDW to even want to go that week? The other things that make May more appealing are not having to worry about bad winter weather in Chicago making it difficult to get to Florida in the case of a snow storm, cold/flu season has ended by May, and youngest ds would be a little older (he turns 3 Jan 14-the last day of the January sailing)!
So I'd really appreciate any advice from you veteran cruises. Dh is no help he says either date is ok with him. $1200 is alot of money but would it be worth it? Is weather that much better in May than Jan? We've never cruised so eastern vs western is not an issue as we will probably book the other route while on board!
