Hi--we are Floridians-

How are the January sailings...is it possible to swim? (remember, we are floridians). Is February a bit better? In the past--I have found the prices to be very good at this time of year.

What is the weather like on the eastern itinerary.

I am so addicted to these boards and have a gloomy outlook right now as I watch everyone plan their trips. I will feel much better when I can finally place a deposit on a cruise :) Can't wait until the 2006 dates are out and I have $1000 for a deposit for my family (that's $250pp, right?)!

Hi! I'm going in January as well and was wondering the same thing. I sure hope someone has an answer!

cool...mid to high 70s in the islands...no humidity....overall, an excellent time of year to cruise!!!

too chilly for me to swim--but the kiddies would love it--chattering teeth and all :teeth: But I love that 70s temp weather!

Even in the Bahamas in Jan there are times it is to cold to swim...last year in Jan there was a week where it was in the 40's in Nassua!!!!

We cruise only in January, but we are in Michigan so 60's and 70's seems downright balmy to us!! :teeth:

We weren't able to make it to Castaway Cay on our second 7-night cruise, as the winds were too strong, but otherwise we always enjoy the weather in January. It's warm enough to us (and many others as it's always crowded) to lay by the pool, and enjoy the beach at Castaway Cay as well.

We went Jan of 2002. We are also Floridians. It was cool, very very windy, seas 20 - 25 ft. Lots of "protein spills'! Missed Grand Cayman due to bad weather. Castaway Cay overcast and cool. But inspite of it all we loved it, our next cruise is in 2 weeks. January weather is a crap shoot but the deals for residents then are excellent!! To me the cruise itself is the main reason I go, so even if it never docked and rained 7 straight days I would still have the greatest time. Any time is a good time for a cruise!

Looks like hubby has monetary plans to place us on the boat in Oct 2006--January was too early to have enough $$$.

Oh well--maybe if they have excellent Fla Res Rates!
