January Codes?

We are going the end of January to the WL for the first time. I have a AAA rate right now that comes to about $169/ night without tax. I too was hoping for a better rate from what it looked like others had gotten in the past. Well, our reservation is for a standard view, so maybe if nothing else, we will be able to get a better view for a few dollars less if the code applies to an upgraded view for $164.

Anyone else bummed these don't get offered to the AP holders for a week or so first and maybe for $5 bucks less or something? I keep hearing advice to even out of staters coming in once a year to go ahead and buy a pass for the discounts on resorts. Seems like the codes going right to general public negates that part of the AP value.

I just called and the CM stated that she didn't have anything in her computer yet so I guess tomorrow it is! I am so impatient. Also, quick question - I think this rate won't be much different then my AAA discount because it states the rates posted plus tax. What are the taxes normally for the rooms? I haven't done this before.

I am new to all the codes thing---but booked my trip 2 weeks ago for 4/17. Does this mean there won't be any codes coming out for after the value season?

I picked the 17th because I assumed that getting the value season AND a code was probably not gonna happen. Did I screw up majorly?? or do you all think there will be another one soon after?

Thanks!

We are currently booked Standard view at AKL, for a few dollars more, and I'm wondering if that $164 would be the price of a room at YC. If so, do people think I should switch or see if I could get the Savannah View at AKL. Normally, we'd never be able to afford YC, and DH would love to stay there. All prices being equal (I'm already committed to spending more than 164 a night), would people choose AKL or YC?

On another note, WDWInfo also has a winter dream maker package listed. I worked it out, based on that being the price of a 3 night stay, and there's no discount on the UPH's, and the room itself costs more than the BDP code room. (62.20). I think we should stick with room only.

My TA emailed me today, she was able to switch our wood view room at WL from AAA to annual pass rate today. For 4 nights, the total including tax is $562.00. That's about $126 per night before tax.

But they had no AP availability on our room at POR. So we are still paying AAA rate there which is $663 for 5 nights in a king room. Hopefully something will come up.

I just booked 2 nights at WL under the BDP code

here were the quoted rates (including 11% taxes & fees)

Courtyard $169.50
Woods $154
Standard $132.50

I booked woodsview. Should I book courtyard for 15 dollars more a night or just be happy and maybe we will get an upgrade.

We wanted PO-FQ for our stay 1/22 - 1/29. Our TA could not get either AP or FL resident rates. So I was going to settle for CBR. Then I just said to myself let me call Disney directly to just see. Well I got what I wanted PO-FQ for $79 with the FL resident rate. I guess I've gotten lazy since the last couple of trips I've let a TA handle everything. But from now on I think I'll just call myself. I was on the phone waiting maybe 1 minute & I got exactly what I wanted. So now I don't feel like I'm not getting my first choice !! Yeii !!!!!!

I think they freed up a whole new list of rooms today for both AP and general public codes.

I tried to book AP rates yesterday and NOTHING was available at Polynesian, and only suites at WL and AKL!! Anyway, I finally found AKL Deluxe Pool View for $199 for 1/10 - 1/16/05.

I called back today and could "downgrade" them to Standard Savannah, using the AP rate, without a problem. CM said most rooms were released today, even if codes came out yesterday. If you were out of luck yesterday, keep trying.

I am very excited. My DU agent got the code applied to our reservation. What started out at $665 for 3 nights is now $398 (we did have $565 AAA rate in between). This is great and DU is the best!
