January car rental

We're booked for Jan onsite with car service reserved round trip from MCO. I'm starting to think about moving off site and renting a car instead but car rental prices are sky high (at least to me for 6 days). I'd need to book sometime during Oct. Can I expect prices to come down or just keep things as they are?
