Hey all! DH and I will be camping with family January 7-10. Anyone know how the crowds should be then? I would think mos of the holiday folks should be heading home by then. How are the crowds right now in the parks and at the Fort? Hoping for cool, but not too cold temps. It's been so up and down here in Clearwater so hard to say what it will be like. Anyone going around then?

Can't speak for the Fort as I don't think I have ever camped there in January. The crowds in the parks that time of year are very light. I have camped in February and it is not too bad as far as crowds.

Temps, on the other hand, be prepared for anything. We nearly froze when we were there one December, but in February it was nice.

Happy Camping!!!

That's Marathon weekend so it will be a lot more crowded than the rest of Jan.

hi, marathon week can be crowded. Parks are a little crowded but not as bad as holidays. but make your plans accordingly, monorail is packed in morning and Disney does a good job of it being so many people are running theres about 30,000 that participate. Half marathon is on sat. If your staying at fw its not bad at all. Don't worry it will be fine that weekend. Our son, grandson all run in them. We will be there were arriving on the 30th of dec. Hope temps are warmer than here in Destin its been chilly and cloudy.

We were there last year during the marathon and we didn't notice much of a difference in crowds at the parks. We will be there again, so we too are hoping for good weather. They are forecasting a low of 0 on the morning that we leave home....Florida weather has got to be better than what we have back here! :cool1:

We'll be there!

SO excited!!

We picked that time because we though it would be one of the least crowed times, I guess we didn't plan that too well!

But if most of the people are running does that mean they wont be in front of me in line!?? lol

Hey mickeyminniefan2! Are you a Destin snowbird? Just curious?! We live there as well...and will be at the fort for the 1/2 marathon also! And we hope it is warmer down there as well! Unfortunately...the temp down there can be as iffy as it is up here! Last year we went from total head to toe sweats/coats one day and back to shorts the next day. Makes it hard to pack! But if I have to be cold....I'd rather be cold down there!:goodvibes

Whoops! Forgot completely about the marathon. Oh well, should still be a good time. Hoping for warm weather since we are dipping down to 39 tonight! (Pretty chilly for here!)

I guess you can say we are lol we have only been here a week at Topsail state park. Really nice we like it alot. We like the area to very pretty. Were leaving tomorrow for fw and hope to stay till February at the fort. We have been there when its' cold but coming from MI it's not to bad. We had planned to stay longer but it is getting to expensive. We have been coming down for the marathon for about 6 years now. Our son and grandson run in it and daughter in law does but not this time. I give you guys alot of credit for doing this. mickeyminniefan2
