Looking for some feedback on hotels. We are flying into Miami the day before we leave, and would like to stay for 1 night at a hotel with a pool, shuttle from airport, and possibly to the port, and something close to either a grocery store or some place else that we can pick up the bottled water and alcohol that we would like to bring on the ship. We will not have a car so it needs to be walking distance. We were originally going to book the Hampton in and Suites but the price has gone up to $271.79 (from 218$) so I am looking for something cheaper. My travel agent is on vacation, so, I thought I would post here to see if anyone had any recommendations. Or, if there is another board that you can recommend me to that would be great as well! Thanks in advance

Ask in Cruise Forum here as well.

It has been 11 years since we have stayed in Miami for a cruise, but we stayed at a Days Inn that had a shuttle to both air and cruise port. The Days Inn Miami airport still does that.
I hope you find something more reasonable!

What´s the facebook FE group name so I can join it? And how does the FE work? I´ve read somethings on the internet, but I´d love to understand it better! tks!

How is it going to work? Will you send us the list of participating cabines and how many people/age in each? When do we have to delivery the candies?

Sign ups for the Candy Exchange end December 21, and on the 22nd, I will send PM's to everyone with the names and cabins in their group.

As far as "when" I usually give our candy on the first sea day.

The information we need:
Disboard name
Cabin number
Number od adults, children in the cabin
Any allergies?

Hello fellow Wonder peeps! I am just now learning about FE and totally want to do this. If I am reading these threads correctly, in order to be included in the FE...I have to post on here 10 times? Also, for those of you who are exprienced in this...do I have time to even pull this off?

We are so looking forward to our cruise! I will be traveling with my husband, son (9) and daughter (18 months). This is a big year for us...my husband and I are celebrating our 40th birthdays as well as our 15 year wedding anniversary. We have been on one other Disney cruise...which was our honeymoon and happened to be the inaugural year of the DCL! Can't wait to be on board!

Welcome!:welcome:

You only need to post here 10 times to send a private message. I'm organizing a local, regional Candy Exchange and collect the information here!

Bumping to see if any more interest in the Candy Exchange!:goodvibes

I have seen numerous posts for things such as spa raffles, bingo, and other types of scheduled activities. Will we be provided a list of these things to do once we get on the ship? All I see in my itinerary are the standard things, such as pirate night. Tx in advance.

You will get a personal Navigator as you board the ship. After that, you will get one when your cabin steward makes the bed each night. That has all of the information as far as what activities are going on, at what time. You can also download an electronic version of the Navigators.

Read the Navigator carefully and decide what you want to do!:thumbsup2

Choosing what to do will be the hard part! As its my first cruise I literally want to do everything though I know its not possible. Any must-do's that you recommend?

I am a senior citizen with walking disabilities, so I do not do many active things. I like Trivia and would like a group to join for trivia, the more heads put together, the more fun, I think. I definitely want to see Big Hero 6. I like cooking demos, drawing character classes. We do go to some of the game shows, not to participate necessarily, mostly families do, but sometimes, they do pit one side of the room against the other. I enjoy the main nighly shows. Love the fireworks on Pirate night. However...the fireworks are short...do not expect anything like Wishes. The buffet after the fireworks have dishes like Smoked Turkey legs that they sell at the parks...if you like them, look for them. I like the baked potatoes with all the fixens you would like.

There may or not be pin trading, something about flu season. However, if people here want to meet and admire, trade some pins, we can arrange a meet time.

Look for character meet and greets.

Also, there are sometimes special Disney people, or ABC or ESPN people giving talks. Look for these in the navigators.

There is lots to do! :thumbsup2

Thanks! This has only made me more excited! LOL :cool1:

Today DCL sent me the second e-mail telling me about general things on the cruise. Things like there will be a Pirate night and there will not be a formal night.

I hate to wish my life away, but it is so great to realize we have something to look forward to after the holiday season!

I got one too Bobbi. It's good to have a goal :) Sooooo I go to a foot doc yesterday (follow up for a toe) and I mention I am going on a cruise.... He says his family is too! ... Yup their first Disney Cruise! In January! But they are doing the Dream. They usually go to the parks. I got his email and sent him links to the cruise groups, magnet templates, told him about placeholders etc.... He didn't know about all that stuff. Ya never know where your gonna meet a Disney friend.

Congratulations to all of us who are booked! I looked at prices for our cruise today, only OGTS. I do not know if these higher prices will hold. I have never before booked a cruise without picking my cabin...but DH and I are looking forward to this last minute idea for us...booked it about 60 days from sail date!:goodvibes

This is our first cruise, we´re from Brazil and our children (7 and 3 yo) are really excited!!! Can anyone tell me how to sign up to the fish extender? We are participating in the cady exchange, but we´d love to take part of the fish extender too. Tks!

There is a fish extender too. We are signed up.
