January 30, 2011 Wonder Mexican Riviera ANYONE OUT THERE????

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Mindy - you are not alone!
I just booked this cruise for a Girl Friends Trip
There will be Me (Marie) and my friends Teri, Lynn, Sue and Kim in 2 staterooms.
We are all 50something and live in Northern California, I've been on a 3 day Disney Wonder cruise last September with my oldest son and I'm planning on going on a 4 day cruise this September with family (7 of us). Particapated in FE exchange last year so I'd love to do that as well as a Dis Meet.
Guess we just need to wait for others to join!

Yeah Marie!!! My Mom and Dad will be going on this cruise as well so that makes 4 cabins so far. Youll really enjoy the longer cruise... So fun. Cant wait to get to know you.:goodvibes

DBF and I are booked on this cruise and super excited already!:cool1: He is turning 30 while we are on board. This will be his 2nd Disney cruise and my 3rd. Nov 1 to book Palo, Spa and Shore Excursions seems so far away!

I just booked this cruise for me and DH. We are a day's drive from the port, so it seemed more affordable than flying out to FL. This will be our first cruise, and we can't wait!:woohoo:

DH and I are thinking about booking this cruise. It would be our first Disney Cruise and my first cruise ever! We just have to check schedules at work and then I'll be calling to book! :cool1: So I may be back soon with a lot of questions for you veterans!

So excited to be on the Wonder for the 1/30/11 cruise! DH thinks I've lost it but I reminded him that I don't have a DCL tattoo yet (you know who you are out there) This culture is new & a little overwhelming but you guys are awesome & I've got 9 mos. to figure it out!!

We are thinking of booking this cruise. We have been on one Disney cruise (in April on a Mediterranean Cruise). We booked another Disney cruise in Spring for Western Caribbean for our kids spring break, but this weekend were looking at this cruise and sort of interested as our kids have a winter break. We have taken our kids to WDW a ton of times but they have never been to Disneyland and have asked about going there.

So why am I posting - interested in input from those of you that have booked already what you expect of the weather. I've looked online and found this for the average temps -

  • Mazatlan - 80-82 avg high, 66-68 avg low
  • Cabo San Lucas - 72-75 avg high, 60-65 avg low
  • Puerto Vallarta - 77-80 avg high, 60-65 avg low
  • Los Angeles - 69-70 avg high, 50-51 avg low
so looks to me like if we wanted to spend a few days in Disneyland before the cruise, might be a little cool but not so cold that we couldn't enjoy wearing a sweathshirt. little worried about weather as one of the things holding me back to book. also looked like this might be more of a rainy season in LA too compared to other times of the year - any comments on that? does anyone think it will be too cold to use pool on the ship?

interested in those of you who have booked this cruise already, any comments on why you picked this time of year to help as input into our decision process.

Hello to everyone in this group. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Monica and I live in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico. For anyone on a future Disney cruise to the Mexican Riviera, I am pleased to make myself available to you for any questions about the city of Mazatlan or country of Mexico.

As for myself, I am a resident of both the United States and of Mexico. I speak both English and Spanish fluently and I have sailed on DCL numerous times and have been a lifelong fan of Disney. Let me say right upfront, I am NOT selling anything nor am I affiliated with any business or tour company. I am only here to help and give honest information and opinions in an attempt to make your time in Mazatlan or Mexico a positive experience.

I hope that everyone will welcome me to the discussion and that I can be of assistance to anyone who has a question about my city or country. I will attempt to check the boards once per day, but should I miss a question, please do not hesitate to send me a private message. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Gracias,
Monica

We're booked for January 30 - right now a total of 4 rooms - me & hubby, my bro, sis-in-law, 2 nieces, mom & dad and my aunt & uncle. My cousin & his GF might be booking too. Can't wait - already soooo excited!

I'll be there with Tiff@DL (I'm the sister-in-law). She has got me excited about the FE group. :yay:

My parents went on a carnival cruise to Mexico last year at this exact same time and said the weather was excellent. They left from San Diego & said that it was a little cold there, but the entire time in Mexico was perfect weather. We are also planning a stay at DL after the cruise. I expect it will be sweatshirt & jeans weather - but not expecting any "trip ruining" weather.

We are staying at DL the 2 nights before the cruise. Grand Californian is my home resort for DVC. Never been to DL or DCA before, very excited!:cool1:

Ellie!! you will have the best time at "Walt's Park". We usually go to DLR about once a year - I can't stay away any longer than that! The Grand Californian is a beautiful resort - I've never gotten to stay there - but I can't wait until I do. We stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel during our honeymoon - and all I can say is the service at the Disney properties is the BEST! they actually upgraded us for free to the "Malibu Suite". It was awesome!

Tiff, you have me even more excited now! :cool1:

We went ahead and booked this last night given the kids sail free promo. So it will be 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids). Looking forward to it and this special offer certainly helped to encourage me to book as I had been considering this cruise for last month.

My husband can't make it but that didn't stop me or credit card from booking this cruise:rotfl:
So it will be me, my DM, and two DD. 1st cruise for everyone. Let the planning begin!:yay:
