January 3, 2011 - 5 night Bahamas Sailing

Here, in Québec, the price cruise was very low. I have a friend who go to Disney Cruise (often) and she say the price here was very, very good. And thank you to welcome me! Maybe see you on the cruise. I'll suppose i'll will be the only french aboard...

Je parle francais :)

I took French for 6 years + 3 or 4 quarters in college (yes, Ohio State was not on semesters....). I can understand more listening than speaking since I don't get much practice, except when I take care of Haitian patients, since it's close to creole. Unfortunately, the number of spanish-speaking patients waaaaayyyy out numbers any french-speaking ones, and I only took spanish for 2 years, so I am pretty poor at that..........

I think we will all have an enjoyable and relaxing post-holiday cruise :) I am very excited and cannot wait. Now, all we have to do is have DH design a pic to get a puzzle made (Hint Hint ssanders 79!) for DD to open on Christmas morning!!!!

Maybe, we can have a little "chat" in frech on DCL. Au revoir!

Keep in mind this cruise starts when most peoples' holiday vacations end and school resumes. I for one will not mind an "empty" ship.

I agree with both of these. Our daughter will miss three days of school, but the timing, price and itinerary were oerfect otherwise. I also do not mind at all if it is less than capacity, so long as they don't cut services (like closing a pool, limiting Floudners or something else that I cannot even anticipate).

The time is moving fast now. ;)

I have just been trying to fill out my forms on the DCL website for online checkin. But I kept on getting an error message up.... in the end I gave up.

Still no cabin number either, Hope its soon :).

Anyone done there Xmas shopping yet ?. I have started, but not got very far yet.

It's been so hard to keep this secret from our girls. I can't wait until Christmas Day for the big reveal!

I'm done with all my shopping. I'm off to Phoenix to visit my sister's family and my Dad (who has Alzheimer's and lives in assisted living. He's celebrating his 75th BD on Monday so I'm going out for that). I'll be taking all of their Christmas gifts with me which will be a big savings on postage. I'm really excited to have a relaxing holiday season followed by an even more relaxing post holiday cruise!

We're taking our HS daughter out of school for 5 days for this cruise:scared1: but she's got excellent grades. It's right before finals and if she keeps up her great attendance, she won't have to take the finals on Friday which means she'll miss only 4 days (and only 2 in each class). It's still hard to take a HS student out of school. Our other daughter is in Pre-K so that's not a big deal at all.

Welcome to our new cruisers!

Thank you. It was very helpful. I let you know if i'm interesting to participate.

One thing we love about homeschooling - we can arrange around trips or work on trips.

keeping a secret is really really hard - we are not telling our kids (15 and 13) until the day we go to check in! We will be at WDW the days before that!

I see you are from Morgantown - I am originally from Mannington!

I spent a loooong time in the dollar aisle at target yesterday. Tons of good disney/cars/princesses stuff. Great stuff for the plane ride and for keeping kiddos entertained. Im debating making them stocking stuffers, or part of a "cruise" bag for each kid to take with us.

Also, Target has 75% off their halloween stuff, anything packaged in halloween, candy, costumes, cups, books, etc. Got a bunch of great stuff, including a couple of costumes for the dress up box/next year.

Hi, JoMilo!

My husband and I speak only a few words in French, but our college-age daughter who is traveling with us speaks quite well. Both she and our other daughter with us speak Spanish better, both having lived in Spain for a semester. Our third daughter, who won't be with us, teaches high school French and has lived in France. Too bad she can't be with us! (She'll be busy teaching!) I hope we can meet.

...And when can I order my first drink? lol.

The servers walk around with glasses of a fruity cocktail during lunch (which is being served as you arrive). I think they are strolling Deck 9. They will charge it to your KTTW (Key to the World) card - your room key - for the cost. No idea what the $$ is.

Me, my wife and our 3y/o boy (turning four the day after the cruise) would like to be part of the fish extenders.

Has anyone gotten their GTY cabin assignment? We are anxiously waiting for ours! Don't forget to update the FE when you do if you are participating. Not too long now!

I still haven't gotten my cabin assignment. I keep checking and hoping that it appears!! I am getting so excited!

I am not expecting any assignments until next week when we get to 45 days out.

Hi All,

Me and my gf will be on the cruise - our first ever cruise! Will be at Disney World before and after.

Would be really keen to know what room assignments people end up with - I've been checking every day for the last 2 months (long shot I know but really want to know what we get).

Welcome to the boards and the cruise.
We were are now at 48 days so try again on Friday.
Any plans on participating in the Fish Extender?

We're really new to all this and had to have a quick search to figure out what a fish extender is :surfweb:

But yup looks fun :cool1:

How do we get on the list?

DH got his passport yesterday. I know its not necessary, but it was expired and it was time to renew anyway. It took less than three weeks. Im starting a new job Dec. 1. I was sure to tell them about my vacay in January. Time seems to be flying by. It will be here before we know it!

I was shocked when my entire family's passports came in exactly two weeks, and I didn't even pay for expedited service! (not that anyone should take this as a "typical" case!)
