January 3, 2011 - 5 night Bahamas Sailing

We can all revel in the heat of the Bahamas in January :yay:

You'll be able to pick us out for sure then -- I will bet pants, and at the very least, long sleeves (but I am sure more like sweaters/sweatshirts and jackets, at least on DH -- he's ALWAYS cold) :lmao: (I am laughing, but I know it's true!!)

In re: sewage -

Do you have a link to that thread? I find this site a bit overwhelming at times, but Im interested. I suspect things will be worked out by January. It would be an awful mess on board and for bookings (pun intended?) if not.

I want to know my room number!!!! It's so hard to have patience! I wanna know now! :)

Me too. I am trying not to look every day now.

I am already looking forward to the bahamas in January.

I guess it depends on where you come from.

We are not Michigan, but, coming from the Rockies, anything in the 70s or 80 will be downright balmy in January.

I know the resorts heat the pools. Do the ships also?

In september on the Magic the pool was like stepping into a warm bath :).
I am looking forward to sunshine, coming from the uk, we will be having temps of 10F, or some mornings minus at home then.

With regards to the sewage smell We did the Transatlantic this year, but were on deck 6. Our table mates were on deck 2 and never mentioned any problem. We also never heard anybody complaining about it.

The above thread seems to be specific to after drydock, so after your TA cruise. Seems like things should be better after drydock!!!

Sorry for my English!

I'll will be our first cruise ever. Me and son are so excited. We ear a lot of good comment about the Disney cruise.

I'm so surprised there is still no big discounts for our cruise. The Canadian 25% off starts the cruise after, no military, no Florida res, they didn't advertise the kids sail free at all. Do you think they don't want to fill the boat? Maybe they will be low staffed?!? There is still a tonne of availablity. There are still rooms available in 18 catergories and 12 of them are showing at least 8 rooms.

I am so happy that we have 2 months to go. :dance3::cool1::cheer2::woohoo::yay:

Yes. I was reading about the sewer smells that some folks posted regarding their time on the Magic. Makes me nervous. I saved for quite some time for this special family vacation. That would be a huge bummer.
As for a Dis-meet, I look forward to meeting everyone. I am just so excited to finally be going on the DCL I have been dreaming about. Looking to make some memories. I plan to be at the terminal when it opens. Maybe we will meet some of you there, too.

Like most of you are checking everyday for your room assignment, I am checking for Florida Resident Rates!!! I am still very hopeful that they will offer them in order to fill the cruise. I know we for one will certainly upgrade if the magical "FLR" code works sometime soon!

Here, in Québec, the price cruise was very low. I have a friend who go to Disney Cruise (often) and she say the price here was very, very good. And thank you to welcome me! Maybe see you on the cruise. I'll suppose i'll will be the only french aboard...

Keep in mind this cruise starts when most peoples' holiday vacations end and school resumes. I for one will not mind an "empty" ship.

Can someone are able to explain me what's a fish extender ? I know a little. I heard there will somebody who will be the host of the fish extender. Thank you for your answers.:grouphug:

It is a lot of fun, especially for the little ones. Our DD loved coming back to the stateroom or waking up in the morning to check the FE.

There are a few threads that should answer your questions.
Fish Extenders 101
Fish Extenders?

If you still have any questions after reading these threads let us know.
If you are interested in participating let me know and I will add you to the running FE List.

I too would like a less than full ship. Especially for our first cruise. I want it to be nice and relaxing so DH will want to go again. I'm just surprised they don't seem to trying to fill it.

I am sorry to say our french is not very good. I took it till grade 11 but it was never a strong subject for me. We are thinking about putting DS in french immersion but that doesn't start here till grade 1 (he is in JK). Too bad, he might have been able to translate for us. :lmao: If he does go into french immersion DH and I plan on taking some french classes or do a program on line. Maybe in a couple of years we will all be bilingual. But that doesn't help much for the cruise.

There are a few more Canadians on board. Perhaps some of them can speak french.

I also hope the ship isnt full. Especially if I have a room that is a "sewer" room...I would want to be able to move to a different room.
Besides, our only other cruise was in March of this year. Since it was spring break, it was PACKED!
