Hi!!

At first DD wanted a big party, we had everything booked, then she changed her mind. So, now we are doing the cruise!!
Yeah, we've held off on a cruise for so long because of me. I'm a little scared of cruising, but the only way to get over it is to just do it, so that's what I'm doing!
Thanks for the links.
I would love any suggestions on celebrating DD's bday on the ship. Should I order a cake? Have the room decorated, or bring my own?

Are you concerned about getting sick? I doubt you will have any issues. We've had only two of nine trips with some noticeable motion, which meant that the closet door would move if not secured, but nothing dramatic. I have considered and then decided against a med cruise many times due to this as they look a bit more risky in terms of high waves. In January, hopefully we'll have beautiful calm seas!
In terms of your celebration, I know when they thought it was our anniversary, they brought us a lovely little cake in the dining room one night, but we were so full, we never ate it. We took it back to our room and admired it for a day, but never ate it. There is sooo much food that a cake may be less special on a cruise, but totally my opinion and I would never say don't get a special cake, especially if she will expect one. If you have noted it is her birthday, I'm guessing she will get well wishes a few times! When my son was younger, I brought him a gift a few times and would slip in the room the first day or come back a little early from dinner and put it on his bed at turndown. Even now we always act silly when we see the towel animal, so it seemed like a great gifting time as well. Oh one more...you know about the door decorations people do right with the magnets? You can definitely celebrate with decorations on your door!
