Hello! Just confirmed we are going on this cruise and wondering who else will be there too.

We are a family of three and this will be our 10th Disney cruise...finally at 10!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:
Have a great cruise!

We will be on this cruise too! Family of four, our first time cruising! We are so excited and will be celebrating our DD's 16th bday!!

That's a great idea for Sweet 16! Our son is 17, but we have never managed to schedule a cruise around his Birthday. We did have some confusion once and they thought it was our 25th anniversary, although it was not really, and they kindly congratulated us everywhere we went! With all your Disney trips in your signature, I am surprised this is your first Disney cruise. I'm sure you'll love it. Not sure if you saw it already, but there is a FB group started by someone on the trip before who is doing b2b, you can get the link in the 1/23 thread if you're interested. There's a another FB link there too for a Fish Extender group, but they are closed to new members.

I am happy to answer any questions you have. Not that you can't get all the information here, but if there's anything you don't see, glad to answer from my experience.

Hi just booked a group of us. My son is competing in a gymnastics meet in Orlando and my family decided to sneak in a quick cruise afterwards since we will already be in Orlando. I am traveling with my 12 DS, 19 DD, 17 DD (angry she won't be able to go to Palo), my dad, my future husband, and believe it or not, my ex husband. Cuz that won't be too awkward, right???? :rotfl2:

That's an amazing list of family members to vacation with! I guess you won't be seated with strangers in the dining room! We will have Palo-envy with our DS as well. I play it down, but my husband will take pictures and mention how yummy it all was...

Hi!!:wave2:
At first DD wanted a big party, we had everything booked, then she changed her mind. So, now we are doing the cruise!!

Yeah, we've held off on a cruise for so long because of me. I'm a little scared of cruising, but the only way to get over it is to just do it, so that's what I'm doing!

Thanks for the links.

I would love any suggestions on celebrating DD's bday on the ship. Should I order a cake? Have the room decorated, or bring my own? :confused3

Are you concerned about getting sick? I doubt you will have any issues. We've had only two of nine trips with some noticeable motion, which meant that the closet door would move if not secured, but nothing dramatic. I have considered and then decided against a med cruise many times due to this as they look a bit more risky in terms of high waves. In January, hopefully we'll have beautiful calm seas!

In terms of your celebration, I know when they thought it was our anniversary, they brought us a lovely little cake in the dining room one night, but we were so full, we never ate it. We took it back to our room and admired it for a day, but never ate it. There is sooo much food that a cake may be less special on a cruise, but totally my opinion and I would never say don't get a special cake, especially if she will expect one. If you have noted it is her birthday, I'm guessing she will get well wishes a few times! When my son was younger, I brought him a gift a few times and would slip in the room the first day or come back a little early from dinner and put it on his bed at turndown. Even now we always act silly when we see the towel animal, so it seemed like a great gifting time as well. Oh one more...you know about the door decorations people do right with the magnets? You can definitely celebrate with decorations on your door!

Sounds like we have a nice group of teens. I think I may take the 19 yr old to Palo, then take the 17 1/2 year old to Remy and pretend she's' the 19 yr old Sshhh don't tell Disney!

I'm getting married on Castaway Cay in August, so this cruise is is a pre-run. Can't wait! I won't be bringing the Ex husband on that one!!! hahaha

Yes, I'm concerned about getting sick. Also, I'm not great with tight spaces.

As for DD's bday, I have decided to get the door magnets and bring some decorations from home for the room. I know I can't hang anything, but I'll get some stuff that doesn't break the rules :)

Your wedding will be so beautiful! I have seen pics of DIS'ers weddings and vow renewals on the cruise and DCL does such an amazing job! Congrats! It will be magical! We had a vow renewal at WDW and no one does a wedding like Disney!:thumbsup2

Hi All! We are not booked on this cruise YET but am most likely going to be in the next week or two. It will be Myself and DS (5), plus we are trying to talk my best friend into going with us and it will be her First Disney Cruise :-) She needs to cruise DCL without her hubby so that she can convince him to go with us in 2015.

This trip is kind of a "celebration" and gift for my son. He had speech problems because of ear infections as a baby/toddler and start speech in January and did so well he graduated in the middle of November. He doesn't start Kindergarten until next year so thought this would be a perfect opportunity for a Mommy and Son trip. And this is going to be his only Christmas gift from us other than a Santa gift, this is more special than any toy I could ever get him (although not sure he would agree, LOL)!

Will keep you all updated if we are able to join you for this cruise! My last cruise group had over 400 people, and it looks like we might be fairly small, I am actually looking forward to that!

Hi All.

I just booked a VGT rate today for this cruise. It will be my wife and I for a great 4 night get away!

Hope it works out and you can go in January! 400 sounds huge. This will be much different I think. This is the first time we're not doing FE as there is a group, but it closed ages ago. I think this will be a low-key relaxing cruise...who doesn't need that!

Great you were able to take advantage of the deal! This is the first time we've ever had our trip go
down in price as we got the Fl resident rate today. January is a great time to cruise I now know!

First time DCL cruisers! We have 2 cabins - traveling with my husband, 2 sons (ages 4 & 2), Grandma & Grandpa. Looking forward to the magic!

Just saw the FRR's. I'm a Florida part timer so WOO HOO. I got a 600.00 refund and my kids and father got an ugraded cabin (ocean view to verandah) and got a 400.00 refund. :cool1:

I'm so ready for this after all of the holiday shopping and craziness!!

I have a 4 year old son (and an almost 2 year old who acts as old as his brother) - noticed you have a 5 year old. Did you wind up booking on this cruise - Jan. 26? Maybe we'll see each around in the kid play areas!! I know I'll be taking advantage of the kiddie pool & play areas as much as I can with my 2 young ones!

FRR is Florida Resident Rate. This can't come soon enough! I'm just hoping for a warm day on Castaway Cay, greatest beach in the world!
