On March 12th I purchased four 7 day Park Hopper passes as E-tickets from UT. They are valid from 01/04-01/13/2020. We bought them this far in advance due to the price increase. These were still the old price.($502.40)
Today I received a call from them (left a voice mail, stating that they haven't received the WDW 2020 ticket prices and they will be voiding the order out and returning the funds back to my card.
I'm going to call them tomorrow, but I'm pretty upset about this. Why did they have the ability to purchase 2020 tickets available over a month ago, if Disney hadn't released their prices yet? I just looked at prices for 7 day park hoppers valid starting 12/22/2019 and they are $645.80 a piece! That's an increase of $143.40 per ticket for a total of $573.60 total! I feel they need to honor the original price I paid.
Anyone else have this happen to them? I'm sure I'm not the only one!

I haven't had this happen but please let us know how it turns out. They are in the UK, correct?
Hopefully you were able to call this morning and get it resolved in your favor.

Disney hasn't released tickets for 2020 yet. If you were somehow able to purchase some from UT, I suspect it was some kind of IT glitch. I haven't heard any other reports of someone buying 2020 tickets so it wasn't likely a widespread problem. At this time, I believe the only tickets with validity into 2020 are ones with a start date in late December 2019. Sorry you have to deal with that, but if UT didn't have a ticket to sell I don't see how they can honor a price and a refund is the solution. Ticket prices starting on 12/22/2019 are likely higher than prices starting 1/4/2020, so I wouldn't expect that price to be the January 2020 price. I suppose they may be able to offer you some sort of guest recovery discount in the future once they do have 2020 tickets, but I don't know what their customer service can offer. The best you can do is call to ask. Good luck!

Enjoy your vacation!

You're saying that you bought a ticket with a start date of 1/4/20? Well if so, as someone else pointed out it must be a technical glitch. And while I understand your annoyance, UT has no recourse but to cancel the ticket and refund you because regardless of who's mistake it was, Disney won't admit you with that ticket.

Now the other thing is we don't know that the price will be higher for that date when they become available. I see a 7 day hopper beginning September 18 of this year for $497.46 which is a little less than you paid. I don't know whether January is considered a low price month under the variable date based system, but it might be, or it might be only a bit more.

So on the bright side, you're not out any money and there is a (small) chance that you will get your tickets for a lesser or similar price. The best thing you can do is check the Disney site or the UT site every day to see when those tickets go on sale, and make your best decision then.

And enjoy your vacation

No, they're based out of Florida, I believe.

I agree with you that the January prices would probably not be the same as the end of December prices, even though it's Marathon Weekend. But I do believe it would still be a significant price increase for the 4 of us.

Well, I'm very pleased with the outcome! I first called Customer Service this morning and the woman basically told me there wasn't anything they could do since Disney hadn't released 2020 prices/tickets. It was a 'glitch with IT.' I told her 'someone had to have physically put the information in, so I wouldn't call that an IT glitch.' She still said there wasn't anything they could do. After hanging up with her, I decided I would continue to pursue it and email them through the 'Contact Us' spot. I said that it wasn't a mistake like a typo, price error, etc. I also said it would probably be a significant price difference. Within 2 hours I received a call back from them. They're going to honor the lower price, if it is higher! He said he could see we've been good customers. (probably bought tickets from them 10 times between WDW and DL) He agreed the 2020 tickets should not have been there and has made sure that was fixed. Once prices are up, I'm to call him personally and he'll get it taken care of. That, I feel is very good customer service!
