January 2020 MLK weekend- what days are your school closed?

Next January 20, 2020 is MLK Day and I believe most schools are closed that Monday. I recently got a copy of our kid's school calendar for the 2019-2020 school year and noticed that our school district is not only closed that Monday for MLK day, but we're also closed the Thursday and Friday before, giving us a nice 5 day weekend. (I'm immediately thinking trip to WDW!) Are any other schools closed for the full 5 day weekend and maybe it's not just ours making that change next year?

We always have the Friday and Monday off of MLK weekend. There's usually early dismissal on Thursday before. We took advantage and went to WDW in 2018. It was a great weekend! Very busy on Sunday and Monday.

The kids in my area of PA are just off Monday. My nephew who has lived in a couple different districts in VA and now in AL were also just off Monday. We went MLK week in 2014. Sunday/Monday were crowded, then the week was ok until Friday it got crowded again. We just went this MLK week and the whole week was quite crowded. Walkways packed and long wait times, including alot of FP lines. I'm not saying don't go, we had a blast, just be prepared.

I wonder if the week PRIOR to MLK would be less crowded than the week of MLK?

The weekend before MLK weekend is the WDW Marathon Weekend. My own plan is to go for the marathon and stay until the following Friday; I don't know how many other runners do it that way versus coming in the week ahead of the marathon for the shorter races and leaving early in the week after.
