I am having a hard time deciding between the two months. I would be booking for either early January or mid May. I know the weather would be better in May but has anyone been in January that could give me an idea of what it was like?!

Thanks!:thumbsup2

My vote is for mid May that is when my family will be there. And its during the Flower and Garden Fes. have to love that right. :hippie:
So for Jan. sorry never been during that time. I've been told that it is very quite at that time.

If you have the flexibility to visit in January, it's a good time to go with lower crowds. Although it's possible there can be a cold snap, it's also likely the weather will be really pleasant.

Also, if you're staying on site, January has several days/weeks of "value" resort rates that are going to be lower than May, which is all "regular" rates.

For lower crowds and cheaper rooms, go in January. For warmer temperatures, Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival, and a lower chance of major ride refurbs, go in May.

I have been during both times and my preference is May for the weather and the Flower & Garden Festival. The weather in January can be unpredictable and as the pp mentioned, you could hit a time during a cold snap. If low crowds are a priority over weather, I'd go in January; otherwise, I'd choose May. Good luck.
