We are in Orlando from December 31st to January 7th, celebrating our son's Sweet Sixteen .

This is a non-Disney trip for us this time. We will be visiting Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. Staying at Hawthorn Suites Universal just off I-Drive.

We will be there January 2nd to 7th, can't wait. This year we went end Jan and the weather was good, just not pool weather for me. Don't know what to expect this year. We will be at Kidani Vilage.

My wife and I will be at Pop Century from Jan 8-16. Hoping for warmer weather than last year.

We are passing up our normal Disney Cruise this year for a week at the parks. We are staying off site and will arrive in Orlando around Jan 30. Our plans are to hang out at the parks and Orlando in general for about 10 days or so.

Can't wait....71 days...But who's counting!

The worst part is that my wife isnt finding out until Christmas morning that we're going. Its her Christmas gift. When I began planning this I never took into account a few things. Its been sooooo hard keeping this secret, not to mention double and triple checking to make sure there's no paper trail and heading off any possible phone calls from TA's and the like. Let me tell you, aside from getting to finally enjoy the upcoming trip with my wife, Christmas day will take a load off of my shoulders!

When your trip is over, do come back and post a trip report. Cali is tops on our family's bucket list.......I want it to be our next big adventure!

We are totally excited about Discovery Cove......we are booked for New Years Day, with the dolphin swim . We figured it would be an ideal alternative to hitting the other parks on a day when crowds are bound to be massive.

I, myself, couldn't keep such a wonderful surprise a surprise that long. I would seriously kill me to do so. Sometimes it feels like all we have done since August is talk about our upcoming trip .... I hope you have some awesome friends and family that can indulge you in some vacation enthusiam until its time to unveil the big news to your wife!!

a little bit of everything and a pair of stretchy gloves! We usually walk around in shorts and the locals are wearing gloves and hats in the morning Long sleeves...hoodie , sweatshirts at the crack of dawn and t-shirt and tees in the afternoon! This year i'm going to wait til the week before to pack so I can check the weather for the week. ITs comfortable temps

Thanks I have been able to tell a few friends, but none of our family knows...I can't take a chance on something slipping....and lets just say her family isn't known for being the best secret keepers...if you know what I mean Not much longer now till she finds out! I'll just have to try to keep it cool till then
