January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Our cruise is the three day leaving on the 10th. There is also a space shuttle scheduled to launch that day. DH is all hot about that!
We actually plan to go to WDW on the 5th and spend a night at AKL and then go to BLT from the 6th to the 10th but I don't want to mess with my ticker now.
I'm not sure if the 4/3 deal would help us, because we got the military rate and will be getting military tickets (at least for 2 of us). Plus, we don't quite have 7 nights. But last year we used it and stayed 6 nights.
Any of you who decide to go then, let me know and we can try to meet! It is Pop Warner week though if that matters to you. We had wanted to go the week before, arriving on Thanksgiving weekend, but the cruise on the 3rd was blacked out of our bounceback offer.

We thought we'd come in on the Sat or Sund after Tday, then stay through the 6th. Is that Pop Warner week or is it the 6th through the 12th? I wonder how much impact it will put on park crowds this year--it seems to vary year to year. I really am going to go for some rope drop days this year. My kids are so pooped every time we come in, that we let them sleep late and get to the parks about 10:30!!! I know we are really missing some prime times for ride ability. Next time I want to get to HS early for Toy Story. We only did FP and I heard we missed out on some really cute stuff in the lines.

What is the revamp for Space Mtn? anyone know?

Space Mtn is supposed to reopen in mid-November (I think). We'll be missing it on this trip, but we did just get to ride it in January. I can't wait until it reopens. My sis was at Disneyland in April and said the new and improved Space Mtn is incredible!

Pop Warner is the week of Dec. 6 - 11 (or 12). I've been reading lots of threads about it and it can be hit or miss at the parks. IF you stay at the same resorts as them (usually a value and POR) you will encounter crowds. I don't think they go deluxe (thank goodness - I get to!) But the first few days they are there, they're competing and not at the parks until they are eliminated or in evenings. Heard that DTD can get crazy too. I've heard others say they didn't even know it was going on...
We don't have much choice, so we're going then anyway. I'll be sure to let people know afterwards for future reference!

Toy Story 3 is due to come out in June of 2010. For some reason I was thinking it was this summer but I looked it up and it's next summer. The premise for the movie is that Andy goes off to college and he donates his toys to a day care. We love 1 and 2 so I'm sure we'll love 3!

My dh's middle name is Andrew and we wanted to name him after my dh but we didn't want a Jr. either. We'll have to let all the Andy's meet in Disney!

I think we will be "watching" for a long time!

YIKES!!! I'll try to watch from afar so I don't stress out too much between now and November when the codes will "probably" come out. Here's praying for Free Dining and the ability to afford an 8 night trip!

Glad I'm not the only one who hadn't heard!!
I think I'm going to order TS 1 and 2 from Disney Movie Club. We have to order so many in the next couple of years, it would be a great way to get the kids excited about the new movie. Maybe "Santa" could bring those this year! (Plus our trip would only be a month after Christmas...I think that would work out perfectly). OR we could wait and give them to them on the plane to watch...hmmmmmm...the ideas just keep coming at me!

Morgan was about 2 when TS2 came out Santa brought her all the dolls that year. Whenever that scene came on she would either leave the room or bring me the remote & say "NO" and stomp her foot. She didnot like that part of the movie.

I certainly don't. We are faithful DISers for crying out loud! If we get an incredible deal, I'm upgrading to AKL. I decided it last night.

Me: "I've never seen it. We can buy the DVD and watch it in the car when we drive to Disney."

Our friends have them, too. G promised me that when he graduates CRNA school and makes the big bucks, we can become members. He also promised me a Volvo station wagon.

Lilo & Stitch is one of my favorites. Though, I've seen it a few too many times now. It was my cousin's favorite when she was about 3, and I babysat her a lot.

That's what I am thinking, booking a moderate and waiting to see what kind of deal comes out and then upgrading to the BC!!
