January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part IV !!!

Well 2 more weeks and we are hitting the road to the WORLD . It's been an exciting week. Wednesday night I got my nurses pin at pinning. Thursday NIGHT I GRADUATED with my BSN and by this time on the 26th we'll be halfway to DISNEY !!!!!!!!!!

That's EXACTLY when I started crying! It gave me goosebumps. I don't care when my next trip is, as long as it's when the parks are all decorated!

I was so excited when I discovered that the Lights will still be up on 1/4 - we have an ADR at DHS just so we can see them! (OK, I don't celebrate the holiday, but I love the decorations!)

My mom said she teared up every time she and my dad drove under the welcome arch when they took us there as kids. She mentioned that during the trip from the car to the park she always thought she was going to pee her pants she was so excited (her words, not mine - ).

I think I'm going to shed a few tears too, just because I am so happy to be able to enjoy this with my kids. I am SO grateful to be in a financial position to do this for us.

My only regret - not to totally hijack the post - is that DH isn't the least bit excited about going. He is totally humoring me, and he honestly doesn't understand why I want to take the kids there. I haven't been there since I was about 11 - so three decades or so ago - and I remember it as being, literally, magic. I want my kids to experience that for themselves. I just wish DH would catch a little of the himself.

I too am gland that we can still do this trip. But I know how you feel about DH - mine has been a few times, the last one reluctantly. This time he just said NO. So it's a girls-only trip, just D and me. Am I a horrible wife for saying that I'm really excited about this mother-daughter time with my (almost) grown daughter??

OOOOOO!!!! I LOVE Carousel Center mall! I was there the day that it opened and waited in line for 2 hours to ride the carousel! I miss that mall SO much! I haven't been there in a few years.

It's horrible to say but I dont live that far (35min) from Carousel and I hardly ever go there unless I have to. It just seemed like for a while it was going to the birds (not the snowbirds) but now that they are building on to it things have really improved so I dont mind going as much as I used to. Congrats on finishing all of your Christmas Shopping . I still have a couple more presents to pick up but I hope to finish up this weekend, hopefully.

Wow I can't believe we are under the 30 day mark until we experience the disney magic for the first time! We are SO excited!!!!!

Our magical express tags arrived today and it just made everything feel so muc more real. I can't wait til it's close enough to check thew Orlando forecast daily!

Okay so while at the Disney store they had a ton of stuff on sale. 50% off lots of clothes and toys were 25-40% off. Well, I found a Disney shirt for each memner of the family ...except me! I found myself a little tote bag! I'm going to wrap them all in one box with the Disney bucks and a note telling the kids that "Surprise....We're going to Disney" tucked under the shirts! The sales lady asked me if the Dollars were for the park and I told her my plans for the surprise, She got so excited for me she actually jumped up and down a little! As she was telling me how cool a surprise that would be and how excited my kids were going to be her co worker was counting out Disney dollars and BAM!!! It hit me! I mean smack dab in the middle of my heart!

I'm going to Disney...

I'm going with my family.....

My kids are going to be so excited.....

We are going to have so much fun being with each other at Disney!

How am I ever going to make it down Main Street if I loose it at the Disney Store? So all of you going in early January...If you see a woman totally bawling on the Magical Express, or Main Street, or heck at the Check-in Counter at the airport....It's just me and I'm REALLY REALLY HAPPY!

I'll keep an eye out for ya ! I'll probably be the one jumping up and down like a 5 yr old screaming " I WANNA SEE MICKEY".

So those of us going in the beginning of the month, I think we need to schedule a meet! The days that I know we have stuff planned for is evening of 9 (Friday) then all of 10 (Saturday) and 11 (Sunday). And I think our first day is Animal Kingdom (8th). So anyone game? I know Soleil has talked about it, are you still interested?

DH and I will be there 7-21 Des, and we might be up for it Probably not on our birthdays (8th and 14th) though, and I don't want to miss any of the 4 Fantasmics

AK is probably the "section" of the whole WDW resort that you are grouped in. Last year when we stayed at CSR our tags said AK. They grouped POP, CSR, and AK all onto one bus.

Mine says EP this time because CBR is in the Epcot section of WDW.

I got my ME luggage tags in the mail today...

My name is spelled correctly.

DH's last name (our last names are all the same) is spelled wrong.

DD9's first and last names are spelled wrong.

DD6's last name is spelled wrong.

Should I do anything about this, and if so, who should I call?

There used to be a ME number. . . Is there anything in the booklet? You can always call the regular WDW number. I would definitely call someone!
