If I already have a reservation with AAA won't the discount just be applied to it. When I go the Disney website the only thing that comes up for CSR (where my reservation is) is a room in the business level, I don't think I want that.

How is everyone saving so much??? I only saved $300?

In my case I only saved an additional few hundred dollars because I already had the AP rate... I think those big numbers are for folks that had reservations with either just a AAA discount or those who were at rack rate....

I am glad you all are getting great deals...:cool1:

Congrats! to everyone who is saving money!

I just got off the phone with my TA, and she was already on the phone with Disney, so she's going to try and get this deal for me. We'll see what happens though.
I'm really nervous... she says she'll e-mail me by the morning.

Anyone else feeling a sense of relief now that we know what the deal is, and have saved some $$ (either by booking it, or in my case going with the AP discount :thumbsup2 )? It's like a strange sort of calm has come over me, and now I can go through, double check our plans, adjust a few things here and there (to have dinner in T-Rex one night), and not be patrolling the DisBoards day and night looking for news on codes?? Don't get me wrong, I :lovestruc hearing what you're all doing, but there won't be the urgency to keep checking all the time now.

All I have to do know is to confirm our rental car (was booked through Alamo, but that was around $950AUD for a fullsize SUV - Chevy trailblazer) for 8 days, but thanks to the UK DisBoard have found out about usrentacar.co.uk, and it's down to $590AUD - for a Dodge Durango (still with Alamo). Do any of you own/have experience with either of these vehicles? Opinions on them? Does anyone know if they have onboard DVD players? That'd make the drive far more pleasant for our DDs. Btw, we need the 4WD as we're driving up to Beech Mtn NC to spend :santa: with DH's brother & family.

So to those of you who've saved their $$ may you have pleasant Disney Dreams :cloud9: , and to those who didn't, here's hoping for a GP RO discount b4 your trip.

Cheers.

I was just talking to DH about some of ya'll mentioning that some of the resorts appear full. He said that most likely people are switching from old ressies to new ressies to get this deal. Until Disney gets their system updated the old ressies (canceled rooms) may not show up as available. Just a thought to all who are stressed waiting until tomorrow. I'm sure there will be rooms. Loads and loads of positive thoughts and Pixie Dust to you all who are still waiting!

Yeah for you!!! that is some great savings! Someone mentioned earlier today that they had factored in gas at $4.00 a gallon and since it has dropped down to around $2.25 (2.11 here in Houston) they found a little savings reworking their gas budget. I hope this is the case for you.

Well, I'm odd one out, I guess. Deal's not available at CBR, only business level at CSR, nothing at POFQ, nothing at POP, nothing at GF. I guess the first week in January won't be as slow in the parks as it used to be. AP rate wasn't available then, either. :sad1:

So I'll just have to stick with my AAA discount and my UT tickets.

That's a good point. I had 2 reservations for an hour, and the only reason I don't now is because I spent that hour trying to get through on the phone (I made that new one online). Actually - I think I still have 2, the CM said it would take a little while because they're transferring the deposit.

I totally feel a sense of relief! I am going to Mexico in 2 days and now I can just relax with out thinking that I am missing something.

Yeah, it's over :cool1:

Did you try AKL or Wilderness Lodge... those were the only two Deluxes I could get to pull up online. I'm having my TA check it for me, but I did get the AP discount applied. My soon-to-be DH and I just think it'd be a less stressful vacation if we had everything paid for already.

Yep, my AAA reservation is in CSR and I just got off the phone with a very nice CM at Disney and he informed me that only certain rooms available. I may have to switch to POR

I don't mean to be a downer,:guilty: but from what I've heard about the Codes, they only set aside a certain number of rooms that can have the discount applied to them. When people switch over to those rooms, then their room goes back into the 'rack rate' pool, not the discounted pool. Therefore, most likely the highest level of availability will be right when they release the discount, and once the discounted rooms are full, they usually do not open more at the discounted rate. I suppose if this discount doesn't go well, they could open up another though...in order to fill the other rooms.

Hi Snowbirds!!

What a stressful evening! I left work at 4 (right when the mousesavers info came up) and had to drive 45 minutes before I could get home and get more info!! I got to my mom's to get the kids and MOM'S A TRAVEL AGENT, so we pulled up all the info online and we got our 6 nights at Pop (preferred) for Jan 24-30. I decided to not get the dining plan and we can use our $200 gift card to pay for some food (hopefully)! I never could find what you could use the card for or if there were any restrictions, etc. We'll also get a $75 card because we'll be there for hubby's bday (YEAH!!). In addition to that, we saved about $250!

Hope everyone gets what they're wishing for!! At least we can all stop WORRYING so much now! Now the fun part begins, final details, packing, surprising the kids!! I LOVE DISNEY!!! :thumbsup2

Yes; WL wasn't available at all. AKL is available, but I really hadn't thought about it much. It's $50/night more than my AAA rate at CSR, so the $200 gift card won't make up the difference. I need to save money more than upgrading, and I don't want to book a value.

Oh, well.
