What is the ONE thing you are most excited about for your up coming trip?

The one thing I am most looking forward to is seeing my boy's faces

Oh I forgot...

QOTD: I'm just looking forward to having a week and a half alone with my new DH. We rarely get to spend time together, because we've both been so busy lately. It will be so nice to have 10 days of just him and me. This might be the only chance that we ever get to do that... at least for this long... He has to take classes all summer, then when he graduates in December he'll be shipped off to training somewhere, and it'll probably be a while before we get another vacation, which we'll probably have to spend with family.

OMG...I hope that you can get out to her quickly and that it isn't as bad as you think. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers. With my DD going of to college next year, this is the sort of thing that has me grateful that she is looking at places no more and an hour and a half away! Good luck and drive safely.

Prayers for her safety (and yours as you drive to her), for nothing major to be broken, and for a fast and healthy recovery!

Wow!! I'm glad to hear that she seems to okay!! I'll keep her in my prayers today be safe getting to her.

Aw, MAGGIED! Praying that your dd is okay! Keep us posted!

Maggied- I'm praying for you, too!

MAGGIED--hugs for your daughter, and you too! :grouphug: Hopefully it's nothing too serious!

I hope your DD is okay!

I still need my mom, too, despite the 13 hours between us and call her often to whine! (I will say that I haven't kept her in the loop on my recent health woes because she's been really upset by everything to the point where I have to console her and I need someone to console ME! And it's not even so bad that I think she should be upset!)

Maggied - I hope everything end up ok with your daughter. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

MaggieD - hope DD is okay. Nice that she can still be close to you.

You're taunting us!!!

MaggieD - hugs and prayers for your DD! I broke my wrist in college playing football for a sorority tournament. I remember I didn't cry until they told me I needed a cast and I didn't like any of the colors...:rotfl:

Hope She is all right! :goodvibes Please get us an update as soon as you can! We are thinking of and praying for you and your daughter! :grouphug:

Hey Everyone!!!!

Maggied, I hope everything turns out of for your DD :grouphug:

Maggie, I hope she's OK! That's the only thing I hate about my DD's school - it's 6 hours away! She's had strep and other illnesses  , and I haven't been able to be there. :guilty: It's tough.

Here's hoping that your d's injury is easily healed!

I just saw this-but wanted to tell you I am praying for your dd--let us know how she is ----- and how YOU are!!!
Thanks to everyone.... we just came back from the orthopedic surgeon and it looks like she has severe muscle strains and tears.... not sure of the correct wording... she will be on crutches for a week and then back to see him...

thanks for all your thoughtful words and prayers.... I showed them to Maggie and she was very touched...

Off topic but....

I was planning to go to my cousins wedding in Austin Texas May 9th. My sister and I were thinking about going together and leaving our hubby's home with the kids. (she can't leaver her 4 year old with anyone else bc he has diabetes and is on an insulin pump).

Anyway...I was looking at the calendar and it is Mother's Day weekend. I don't know if I should ditch the wedding all together or if I should try to come home early on Sunday. It is a pretty long flight from Texas to Jersey. I don't know what to do. I had already told the bride and groom that we are planning to come.

Ahhh...Becca I know that feeling!! Being a college student, army wife, it can be crazy, but you'll find time no worries. Just one day at a time!! I just finished my masters and finally feel like I can breathe. Now we are considering starting a family LOL...everytime I see pics of all of the snowbirds children I feel a tug on my heart!! You guys have some great kids!!

Good evening My lovely Snowbird friends! :goodvibes

I come to you this evening with a bit of a tragedy that has befallen our family. :sad2: It seems as though our cat has disappeared :scared1: She is an 11yr old black short hair cat and has been an indoor cat her entire life! As of late she hasn't been herself. Not eating, getting sick frequently and being snarly with the kids. I could tell she wasn't well. We talked about it and decided that if she wasn't improving by the end of this weekend that we would take her see a vet. Well, we were getting ready to head out for a bit earlier this evening and I realized that I hadn't seen the cat for most of the day. We called her and called her but she didn't come. We searched the house top to bottom and looked in all the noks and crannys she is so fond of hiding in. So we decided to look outside. Now you have to know that as an indoor cat, she does not like to be outside, AT ALL! She never asks to go out nor has she ever tried to get outside, EVER! Lately though, she has been trying to get out whenever somebody opens the door! Strange for her! Anyway, DH and DD7 decided to go around for a bit and look for her before it got too dark. Well, they did not have any luck. I searched the house again and again calling her and shaking her food jar (which usually brings her running) to no avail. I think she is gone:sad1: The kids are soooo sad:sad2: and I know DH is too. I am too, but if she is infact gone, I almost feel releieved in a way. True we didn't get to say goodbye, but now we don't have to worry about what to do with her when we are gone away in January. She gets really lonely when we go away and she is just too old and opinionated to spend time in a kennel. My parents/sister usually come to check and feed her when we are away for a weekend but almost 2 weeks is too long for that.
Thanks for putting up with this long post but I needed to write it out to help feel better and I knew that some, if not all of you would be sympathetic to my ramblings! For those of you who do so , would you please pray for my dear sweet little girls who are going to miss their kitty terribly? Thanks so much!
I am going to say goodnight now as I need to have my shower and get into my cozy bed! I have been having waaayyy too many late nights lately! :goodvibes Catch y'all in the morning! :)

I hope you find your kitty....:grouphug:

Good Morning Snowbirds!

I'm supposed to be working (gasp!), but I hurt my back this morning while I was dropping DDs off at school. Exactly how I don't know. :confused3 I must have just turned funny and pulled something out of whack between my shoulder blades. So I took lots of ibuprofen and am doing ice on and off. But rats! I have too much stuff to do to be hurting, you know? I have to get 9 carved pumpkins back to school by 3:00 for DDs' "Harvest Blessings" fall festival this evening. Don't quite know how I'm going to manage that, yet. :sad2:

So this Cooke's of Dublin is a CS version of Raglan Road? I didn't know it even existed. How is that possible? Is it right near RR?

Hope your feeling better soon.... back pain just ruins your whole day....

I'm glad nothing is broken. Hopefully she will have a speedy recovery. :goodvibes Keep us posted.

Shelly.... somewhere back a few pages you posted a link about some folks getting discounts.... was this folks in the USA????? I can't remember where your post was..........

Ok, so I see there isn't a QOTD, so let's try this...

What is the ONE thing you are most excited about for your up coming trip?

Oooh tough one. I think I'm most looking forward to not being in Michigan for a week in January! :rotfl: (can you blame me - it's cold or snow or cold AND snowy!)

I'm also looking forward to most of a week with my DH and hopefully I can convince him to leave his WORK iPhone in the room most of the time. :( Any time there's a free moment, he whips the phone out and checks his work email, his play email, scores of sports teams, plays Solitare. It's kind of frustrating! But perhaps we'll have a real talk about it instead of me just doing the foot stamp and "put that thing away!"

(...it's a good thing this is a pretty innocently-minded group! ;))

Just checked the "operational updates" on the WDW site. . . Still nothing for Epcot, DHS, and AK for January!! :woohoo: Don't you think they'd post them by now or very soon if they were having any???

Okay, I'm off to party with 20 six and seven year olds at the school for DS's Halloween party!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! :woohoo: :cool1:

Have a good afternoon. I'll check back in later.

Shelly have a great time! Maggie glad to hear your daughter did not break anything, though it still seems painful. I hope she has a quick recovery. Trixie I hope you back feels better! Everyone else I hope you guys are having and will have a better day than I am...This day can't end quick enough!

NDG thinkof it this way your kitty spaired you the pain of watching her go.

Maggeid hope the sprains heal quickly I think sprains sometimes hurt worse than breaks.

Well its my turn to have a "sickie kid" the little dude was up all night with a fever & asthma. So he had to stay home today. So he's here at the shop curled up on the couch playing checkers with me in between customers. Luckily its a half day so in a few minutes we get to go home & get DD so she can go to her HSM3 party this afternoon.

If it was my birthday, I would probably put it towards dinner with everybody, course my birthday is in value season, so ride lines aren't as big of an issue...
Unfortunately, you can't use the birthday gift card for food. If only!

Good evening My lovely Snowbird friends! :goodvibes

So sorry about your cat! We just got two new kitties, having put two others down, so I know how it feels. She probably knew what was coming and left to find a comfort spot for herself.

It makes me sad too that the kids are getting older. I wonder how much longer they will have the joy and excitement of going to Disney. Hopefully for many years to come. :wizard: I know right now it is killing them with the thought that we aren't going back to Disney until 2010 (or so they think!). It is killing me not telling them. I will be so relieved to tell them on Christmas. Now if I can just make it through the next 2 months!!! :yay:

I asked my D where she wanted to go for her college break in January - London? Caribbean? Cruise? Grand Canyon? Guess where she chose? :rotfl2: So you probably will get a lot more years than you think!

MaggieD (and here I thought your name was Maggie! :rotfl:) thanks for the update. Hope the injury heals quickly - sometimes these types can take longer to heal than breaks do, and there's less that the doctors can do for them.

Ours is always the Saturday before Halloween, and it just happens that with Halloween being on a Friday, trick or treat will be 6 days before Halloween.

Our downtown area (very small town) will have a parade and a merchants trick or treat on Tuesday night and our local grocery store has trick or treat on Halloween night. So many opportunities for trick or treating!

Very interesting! Must be a lot of fun! :cool1:

Northern Disney Girl - I will keep your girls in my prayers. We recently lost our 15-year old lab. Our son was devastated.

Sorry about your missing cute...I would be devestated if one our animals disappearred. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a fish and a turtle.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! We have two cats and they are definately a part of the family. I will pray for your little girls. I know my DD would be absolutely devasted if anything happened to either one of our kitties.

I am very sorry about your cat. I will be praying for your DD's. That's got to be very hard on them. Our dog is 12 so the kids have never known life without him, it's going to be so hard on the boys when he is no longer with us.

Awww, sorry to hear about your cat. :( I believe that cats know when their time is up and it's quite possible she did, too. Growing up, we knew when our cats went into hiding, well... (and, oddly, the last time that happened, my mom called the vet to make The Appointment and the cat immediately came out of hiding and sat by her carrier. That was heart breaking. That was also the day I decided I'd marry my DH since he comforted me all night!) I hope you and your kids will do okay if your cat doesn't come home.

Northern Disney Girl~ I have heard that animals will wander off like that and find a place to....go to rest. I am soooo sorry for your girls. I will pray for them. But, at least they didn't have to know about putting her to sleep or anything like that.

I totally agree with this...animals have such a keen sense of themselves and the environment around them. I have had to deal with this many times and I truly believe that some animals just know when their time as come.

Either way I know this is a hard situation to deal with Kim...my love and thoughts are with you and your girls through all of this. It is never easy to lose a pet, especially when they are like your family.

Thanks so much everyone for your prayers and kind words! They mean so much! Yes it will be hard for our family, but I know we will make it through! We decided a while back that when the time came to "replace" a pet, we would have a 6 month waiting period to just see what life was like without a pet and if we really needed one! We are a very busy family who travels often so a pet sometimes becomes inconvenient. Thanks agin for all your kind words and friendship - it helps so much!

What is the ONE thing you are most excited about for your up coming trip?
