January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part I !!!

There's a great scrapbooking store at the Hershey outlets! One of my closest friends works there, which is new since I left the US. I can't wait to visit her and see that place. I think I'm going to go into shock! There isn't a scrapbook supply to be found in this country, so it seems. Little bits here and there...but an entire store? Yowza!

Ooh Maybe I'll have to go to Hershey now just for the scrapbook store! You poor thing- no scrapbook stores over there. Want me to send you a scrapbooking care package?

Well, here's what will happen ~ We will all come back to this thread after our trips and share our trip reports!! We will post pictures of our trips and of ourselves with any Snowbirds that we meet! We will stay in touch to talk about our lives, oh and Disney of course! And hopefully we will all be planning future trips!! .

I have been to the Disney outlet in Lancaster. It is ok. I myself enjoy the other shops at Lancaster-Kitchen Kettle, Grandmas attic, and Shady Maple. My girl friends and I go a couple times a year. It is about 45 minute drive for us. I am located in Delaware County. I see you are from Maryland, Rehoboth outlets in Delaware has a Disney store outlet. I like their outlets better, and no tax!!!!! We were just there in Aug. We hit there after vacationing in ocean city Maryland. I also bought pink PJ bottoms from their on clearance.

I didn't know Rehoboth had outlets. They are a little further for me but it's good to know and I love the tax free part. I live in Cecil Co. MD which is the most northeast part of MD about 25 miles to the DE or PA border.

I've been worried about the weather too. I remember going in Dec. and Feb. several times when I was younger and never going swimming and wearing winter coats at night for MVMCP. Although the lack of swimming may have been due to the 3 to 4 day visits and not the weather.
I will definatly be bringing pants and long sleeve shirts along with shorts and t-shirts. That will be one stuffed suitcase!

I'm thinking the same thing- that the suitcase will just be filled with a variety of stuff and perhaps a few loads of laundry in between. I guess we'll all just have to be prepared for all temps. It's in the low 70's at my house today and I have on pants and a t shirt but I figure it might feel warmer when I'm walking around the parks and actually doing something other than sitting on my tush at the computer .

when chuck was helping me change my siggie around DS walked by saw the dancing smiley guy & said "DONOT use that its creepy"

QOTD last year we bought a Disney drawstring backpack at ASMo we used it most of the time. No one argued on whos turn it was to carry w that. It is going back again this year. I also carried just my wristlet wallet w/ our keys,chapstick,pill box,& cell when chuck would put the camera in his cargo pockets.

Got an awesome buy yesterday on day off had to share. The Steve & Barries store by use is closing everything is $8! Got to awesome lightly lined windbreaker type coats w/ zipped in hoods for the kids. They can wear them now to school this month but will be awesome for Disney. If it should get cold put a sweatshirt under them & totally good to go.

Okay, here's some of the contents of my bin, finally. I took pics of our t-shirts, but the kitties wouldn't stay off them, so pretty much all you would see is cats, and after I took my toiletries pic, I realized I had forgotten some of my items. I'll re-do those soon.

This is the fun stuff for DDs, we may give some away to friends that are going too. In the middle are their new mini-backpacks from Wal-Mart. They were clearance for $5. Can't beat that!

Hey everyone! I just found a link to this thread in the Jan 09 code watch thread.

I just booked this morning for Jan 13-20 at Pop. Our flight suddenly dropped to $109.50/person each way. This is $100 a person cheaper than it's been every other time I've looked! We hurried up and got it booked, and JUST IN TIME, as we got 3 of the last 4 seats at that price!

If you are still looking for your Jan flights, check now! This was Sun Country - seems like Tue and Wed flights are dropping a lot. There was at least one other airline that had dropped their prices a lot too.

Going to try to catch up on some recent reading in this thread... see what's going on for Jan!
