OK as of yesterday I have completed so far in the KatiebugMom's family 2008 tour of national amusement parks:

I teased DH yesterday that we needed to go to Lakemont Park in Altoona and ride Leap the Dips to have a complete Summer.

So I have a question. I called today to make ADRs for the 24th through 30h. I was told that no one can make any past the 25th because they are moving to a new system and will need to wait until late October to make ADRs for those dates. I called back an hour later and got a different person and was told the same thing. The exceptions are Cindy's RT and Chef Mickey's. I noticed that some snowbirds appear to have ADRs all the way out to the 30th. Is this new? Is everyone else getting the same story? The good news was I got the exact time and place I wanted for the 24th and 25th, which I hope means that it won't be too crowded! The other good news is that I have until late Oct to make the rest of them and maybe there will be P&PP thrown into the mix by then.

We will be there 1/5- 1/13. I see you've stayed at the CBR before so I guess that means you like it..LOL I did some reading of reviews on another site, and had my doubts about it. My dd and I both agree that as long as the room is clean, that's all that matters...we don't spend much time in the room anyway.

This is our first time to Disney (not mine or dh's but as a family)...can you give me information on the parties...I'm not in the know on everything that we should do with the kids so any tips are appreciated!

The only Disney party I've had the joy of experiencing is the Pirate Princess Party. This was AMAZING! There were hardly any waits for lines as far as rides go. To see the characters there were lines and I think I waited around 30 minutes to see Mickey. The great thing is that all the characters were dressed up in Pirate Costumes...even Mickey! They also had unique things throughout the park like Cinderella's carriage was in the back of fantasyland and I had my picture in front of it which was so special! Also, the fireworks were INCREDIBLE! Definitely try and get tickets to this. Hi Everyone!

Mind if I join in the fun? My husband and I plan to be at CSR January 9th-15 for our 25th wedding anniversary.
I've never been in January as I usually go in October and in fact am going with my Mom this year.

I've actually started worrying about our flight out of Detroit, too. It could be really bad!

Trixie- We fly out of Detroit Metro, we live ten minutes from it! On our last trip we went in Feb. We had to wait for the plane to get de-iced. That was a first for me! We take a 6am flight. Yes, I know I am the meanest mommy ever making my kids get up at 3am. But hey it's for a good reason!! Last time we were to POFQ by noon so we ate lunch at their food court and headed for MK. This time we are hoping to make it to the park and get CS somewhere but I obviously won't starve my kids to do so. My BIL wanted to make an ADR somewhere but it is so unpredictable with January weather. I worry about being stuck at the airport too!! I am going to try and get some more pics up today. My dd7 is having a friend sleepover for the first time so we have some prep to do for that. Yeah, my coffee is done brewing Talk to you all later!

Every time I flew out of Metro this past winter, we got de-iced. First time I'd seen it, of course, is when we flew to Disney in January 2005! Having a non-stop always makes it much easier on my head... .we'll get there. Eventually.

Yes, we love CBR!! I just posted some pictures of it a few pages back. Okay maybe it's more than a few pages now. Hard to tell, this thread moves pretty fast some days! Anyway, we love it and can't wait to go back! Some people don't like it because it is HUGE and I guess they don't like to walk. But it is so beautiful we don't mind walking around it. We stayed in Jamaica last time and it was only a 5 minute walk to the pool, food, and gift shops. And there is a bus stop in every village. CBR has been the best housekeeping experience we have had at Disney. So hopefully it will be the same this time!

Right now you can only make ADR's up to Jan 25th. (except for CMickeys and CRT, like you said) Some of us just have listed on our ADR's what we hope to get for the dates after that! No one has a definite date as to when we can call back and make them for the 26th and after. We have all gotten conflicting stories on that. So I'm sure when it gets a little closer we will be calling everyday!

Ok so I have more free time than usual today apparently! Here are my pics entitled: What Disney world does to your kids

This one is after HofP. I had to use the ladies room and when i came back they were sitting there with my DD2 out cold. That is my DH holding her and my MIL and BIL are in the pic too.

This is leaving MK one night. She had done great all day but the walk out with all those people about did her in. She never woke up as we got on the bus, my DH had to hold her the whole time on the bus because no one would give up their seat, and into the room. Poor thing.

And here they are sleeping at POFQ one night. We had adjoining rooms so we would go visit while they zonked out. When we walked into our room this is what we found:

So be prepared!! We are going without a stroller this time so they are going to have to tough it out!! We might rent one for AK, seeing as it is so big. We'll see. Have a good day!

We're spending the night at DBIL/DSisIL's house the night before our flight which is at 8:50 am, because we're 2 1/2 hours from Metro and they're only 17 minutes away! They live in Ypsilanti (Pittsfield Township), so much more convenient. Also, DBIL will just drop us off and pick us up, so no parking fees!

Love the little song!!
Right now you can only make ADR's up to Jan 25th. (except for CMickeys and CRT, like you said) Some of us just have listed on our ADR's what we hope to get for the dates after that! No one has a definite date as to when we can call back and make them for the 26th and after. We have all gotten conflicting stories on that. So I'm sure when it gets a little closer we will be calling everyday!

Thanks Momof2Disneyboys. I thought that maybe some lucky people were able to make ADRs before the rule went into effect. I was told October 24 7:30AM is the big day. The second person I talked to would not confirm that date or time. I will post my ADRs and wish ADRs soon. I love seeing how everyone shapes their days and experiences just by looking at those.
