January 2008 Waitlist Thread

I haven't seen any threads for January 2008 waitlists, so if there is, please delete this.

So who is waitlisted for January?

Right now we're booked for a studio at SSR from 1/12 - 1/20 and waitlisted for VWL and AKV savanna view.

We'll probably end up upgrading to a 2 bedroom within the next week or two since we have 2 more people that will most likely be joining us. If so, I'm sure we'll end up having to waitlist a 2 bedroom for VWL and AKV savanna view, and just booking whatever is available.

I don't know how good of a chance we have since we picked probably the two hardest resorts to get, and we're staying for 8 nights (3 of which are weekend nights). But anything's possible, so we're keeping our fingers crossed!

We have a studio at VWL for Jan 23-30 and are on the waiting list for AKV savanna view. We have never stayed at either resort so we will be very happy with either one.

We have AKV Concierge 1BR for Jan 13 & 14 and are waitlisted for regular SV 1BR.
Also waitlisted for SV Studio for Jan 17--They could add one if we were willing to move from a dedicated to a lock-off but I really don't want to move for one night. We're already moving from Concierge to SV mid-week.

Wow it seems like not that many people are waitlisted for January...so how come mine hasn't come through yet after a month! Anyways, good luck to everyone waitlisted. I'm hoping this is a good sign that maybe I have a good chance of one of mine coming through! I've never stayed at BCV, VWL or AKV, so I was hoping one would come through for January.

What are your dates? I just modified my reservation and gave up a day, so wondering if it helped you. I have an AKV standard studio Jan. 28-Feb. 1. I dropped a day as I was going to stay until Feb. 2, but decided to save the points (weekend) and come home a day earlier.

January 14-18. It cost me only a few points more than staying at OKW, so I'm a happy camper right now! I'm wondering if some new rooms came into the inventory?

i was wait listed for a studio, boardwalk view at boardwalk but they just called about a week ago and we got it! our dates at jan 14-19

I'm booked at BWV in a 2 BR preferred view on 1-20 to 1-26. I've been waitlisted for a standard view, same dates, for quite a while (2 months, maybe?). I've checked with member services to make sure I'm still on the list and they tell me yes.

i was wait listed for a studio, boardwalk view at boardwalk but they just called about a week ago and we got it! our dates at jan 14-19

Yay for both of you!! It's always nice to hear that a waitlist has come through!

We actually aren't on a waitlist anymore. We just cancelled our waitlists for a studio at VWL and AKV. We upgraded from a studio to a 2br at SSR just last week. We decided to just keep our reservations there and not bother with a waitlist. Plus, it's a big increase in points going from studio to 2br, and it's an extra 33 points to stay at VWL and AKV. We're trying to save enough points so my parents can go in September/October 2008.

I had the sad duty to call and cancel our January reservations only to find our waitlist request for Beach Club had been matched --making it doubly worse. January is such a great time to go! My son just started high school and says he can't miss even one day of school. I guess I shouldn't pout because I rebooked for early June--we'll be there on my husband's birthday. It just seems so far away! Maybe it will help somebody else on the Jan. waitlist.

Called MS tonight to make a change to our Oct Res. At the end she says "I see your waitlist has come through for AKL SV Studio". I checked the member site before I left work--no change. Just seems odd that it came through as I called.

I'm happy we get our extra day, finally!!

I am waitlisted for any view, 2BR at BWV or BCV 1/11 - 1/19/08. Keeping my fingers crossed! We are currently booked for a 2BR at SSR. I wanted to try something else since we are staying at SSR in October.

We are waitlisted for a 2bd at OKW for the 20th. We have the 21-25th booked. I just booked this week for a semi last minute change to bring my parents along. We wanted the extra space and low points option at OKW. We visited there for the first time last week and loved the look of the place and all of the palm trees.
We'll book two rooms at POFQ for the 19th and 20th, (don't want to use pts on Sat the 19th), if our wl doesn't come through. Wish us luck.

I have Ressies at SSR Jan. 24th-30th for a 2BR and waitlisted for the same size at VWL, BCV, AKV think I have a chance? Also, what is BWV like? Is it a good place for a 6 and 11 y.o. I'm not waitlisted there because I'm just not sure if the kids would enjoy.

My kids really liked BWV. There are fun things going on at the boardwalk at night, and the pool slide is awesome. (We've been four Januarys and been able to swim each time.) My husband and I really liked being able to walk to two parks. Fewer cranky kids waiting for buses!
