January 2008 Countdown!!!

add us for Jan!
we're there Jan 4 to 7 at the Poly, though I'm thinking of changing to GF? Any thoughts? It's just DH and myself for a long weekend...

Add our family to the list! Jan 16-19 at Pop and 19-22 at Poly! We are celebrating our son's 14th birthday!! I imagine it will be a little more crowded because of the long weekend, but it won't be as crowded as June!!;)

hey everyone, I just stumbled onto this thread...funny reading when it first started!! Almost a year ago, and here we are close to 6 months away!!!
:cool1:

I will be there Jan 26th thru Feb 1st!! With 11 of my closest friends and family!! We are staying at a grand villa in Old Key West

We are going January 7-12th! We are currently booked at the Contemporary Atrium Club but we might switch to a regular MK view room there or at the GF. The more I think about it the harder it is to justify booking Club Level.

We are planning on going Jan 2 - 12. Does anyone know what annual rehabs are done then? Which water parks will be closed, is splash mountain ususally closed? Thanks

I just read Tony's Townsquare in MK will be closed thru Jan 28th ;)

We have 1/16-1/26 booked for the BCV...Now if I can only book 1/13-1/16 at either CR, Poly, or GF I will be happy....Waiting for those points (using DVC points for the non DVC resorts) are killing me!!

My daughter and I are hoping to plan a January 3-10 WDW vacation. She will be on a well-deserved semester break from college and we are so looking forward to some time together!

:cool1:

We hope to stay at the Swan but are holding out for some good discounts for government workers. We love the Epcot location and the boardwalk and MGM and being able to walk somewhere!

Oh well, hope to see you in January!:cheer2:

We'll be there Jan 6-11th. Staying at ASMu family suites. As I keep looking at everyone else's dates, I keep thinking we should've made the trip longer! :)

Hi,

We will be there from Jan 4th to 12th.We have booked a split stay at AKL 1/4-1/6 then CR 1/6-1/12. We wanted to stay at CR the whole time but they were already booked out. :guilty: So I booked AKL but it was so hard to choose, still not sure if we will keep the AKL reservation, I keep changing my mind.:sad2:
My kids (DS 14 and DD 12) had there heart set on CR and there not really impressed about staying at AKL for 2 nights, maybe I should book BC or WL instead:confused:

We have never been to Disneyworld and this trip really is about them, I want to make sure that it is just perfect.

Too many decisions:confused3

Have fun planning everyone:upsidedow

I wanted CR for 1/26 - 2/2 and the only thing they had was a very expensive room with King Bed and daybed in the Garden wing. I even tried moving my dates around and nothing.

I just booked AKL as well but for our whole trip. I hope it works out. We stayed at WL in April and had a great time but I wanted to try somewhere new. The other deluxes are a little too pricey for what we want to pay.

I would think they would enjoy AKL especially seeing the animals but if not we loved WL. The boat ride to MK was always fun and WCC is a hoot.

They will have a fabulous time no matter what you decide.

Darn CR construction!

Hello! My family is also going Jan. 4-12th! We are staying at CSR... All Deluxe resorts are just a bit too high for me, and I envy you the choices. I think that you'll love whatever resort you get. It's the Disney way, they are all unique! To be quite honest, I don't understand the CR's appeal, so go figure! But remember, Disney creates magical places... someday, my goal is to stay at every resort! We did POR last year and we loved it so much that part of me is sad at not staying this year... but my guess is that I'm going to feel the same way about CSR!

And if this is your family's first trip... I doubt you'll spend all that much time in your resort... there is too much to see and I know that 8 nights just isn't long enough!

Have a wonderful trip...maybe our paths will cross!

We'll be there Jan 11 -15. I'm running the marathon so we are staying at the GF to make good use of the monorail. I figured it would be easier for my wife and kids (5 and 2) to get around if I'm not moving to well after the race. Anyone else running the marathon and staying at the GF?

hey Tasha,
We originally planned two rooms at a value until I found the dis, then I realised I could ge a deluxe for just a bit more than 2 value rooms. One room at a mod would be to small as I didn't want them sharing a bed, although I also thought about 2 rooms at CBR until I found out the pool will be closed.
My kids saw the CR on the website and the monorail going through the hotel just got them all excited. The plasma screen TV also helped. The BC/WL/AKL all look great but I suppose the CR just has the monorail convenience that appealed.
This will be our only trip to WDW as we are coming from Australia.
i would love to able to try every resort(i'm very jealous!!) but unless I move to the US that would be a very big dream.;)
