January 2008 Countdown!!!

Anyone joining us in the long wait ahead??? We don't have any trips planned for 2007, so we're feeling lonely without a thread home to come back to!

We're planning on being at the Poly in the first week of January since our kids now get the week of Christmas and the following week off.

Anyone else have plans that far out?

I am already excited and it is a long wait!!! We are having a major family/friends trip and will probably need 6 rooms. We will most likely stay at ASMu to utilize the family suites and hopefully a few nights at the AKL. Disneyworld 2008 -- Here we come.

I am pleased to join you in the January 2008 countdown!!! DH just agreed over Christmas to another trip to DisneyWorld. I am so excited. I think we are going to stay at the Boardwalk. Now I just have to pick a week!!! I just love planning!!!

OH YAY!!! Me and my DD are going on her first trip and pretty much my first trip. (my dad took me for a day when I was about 5 and we have no pictures, and I don't rightly remember it)....We will be there Jan 2-8th or 9th (haven't decided on that yet)

Depending on how work goes. They are talking about doing some layoffs. We originally started discussing going to WDW in January of 2008 but we talked last night and are thinking about going Oct. of 2008. Nothing is etched in stone yet. Got to get through these layoffs first.

Hoping to be at WL towards the end of January 2008 for DS#2's 6th birthday.... but may wind up at ASMo or POP instead for budget reasons...

Anyone know when package pricing for '08 will come out?

Count me in! I'm ready for my next Disney adventure!! We'll be there the end of January for 10 days (if they come out with another 40% off code that would be great!!). Taking my DF and her 3 kids who have never been. And flying down for the first time instead of driving. Yeah! More time in Disney!

Codes usually come out in the fall. Hope to see some LGMHs!!

Count us in too!!!! Got back from 1st trip this past January and we're planning to go again next January. Looking at 2nd week of month. Hoping for 8 nights. We stayed at POR but may do value since my mom and sister will be joining us. We did AAA last year and couldn't take advantage of codes later. Were the codes just for a certain category of resort this past January? If I thought we could get a code, I'd do a mod again. Also, was this the code that allowed you to get dining as well? Here's to hoping!

We will be going back home January 5th- 13th 2008. It's going to be a long wait but worth it. We are staying at SSR.

Not going in January but I just wanted to say that I'm glad to see so many others who plan a year or more in advance!

We go in 9 days but I told DH that just 6 months after we get home I HAVE to start planning our Sept. 2008 trip!

We'll be there. DH already registered for the marathon! Dates will probably be January 10-16 and we're probably going to stay at GF or CR. We like to be on the monorail for the marathon and we're doing Poly this summer.

We just booked 12/31 thru 1/5....so technically, I guess we're Dec. Countdowners but we're arriving later on 12/31 and will probably only grab dinner somewhere that night.

We're staying at POR...myself, DH, DS (10), DD (7) and DD (4)

My husband and I are planning to stay at AKL in January of 2008. We chose this resort because we stayed there in Sept. and had the most relaxing time! It was the first time in a long time that I was not ready to go home at the end of a vacation!! When in Jan. is a good time to go? Do ya'll suggest booking room only now or waiting for the 2008 packages to come out? For some reason it confuses me greatly!!!

Great idea!!!! We are DVC owners and just booked our trip yesterday at the Boardwalk Villas for 1/23 - 1/31. Boardwalk is one of our home resorts but I hope to be able to switch my ressie over to Villa's at Wilderness Lodge at the 7 month mark. I LOVE Boardwalk but I would like to stay closer to the MK and I want to stay at some of the other DVC resorts also...

I should probably answer my own question, lol. As my sig mentions, we are going to Poly. After our trip last year we realized that a value resort does not work for our family due to the size of the room. So many people say that a room is just a place to sleep and shower, turns out, we actually spent quite a bit of time in our room. So I initially looked at AKL because I love the idea of it, but my oldest daughter read about Poly in her Kids Guide and asked to stay there. I researched it and it sounded wonderful to DH so that's where we're going And no, we've never stayed there before.
