Hi...
Thinking about going to Disney Jan 2 - Jan 9th 2005. Will be staying at All Star Movies with husband, and 2 and 3 year old daughters. Question is..... what are the parks like in January?
Is it cold? We went Dec 3-Dec 8 2003 and it was quite chilly. Too cold for the kids to even enjoy the heated pools. We did however enjoy the low attendance, as we were there Easter week several years ago and it was WAY TOO crowded. Just looking for some thoughts from anyone who has visited the world in January.
Thanks...
Sharon

I've been there that first week in January 3 times, and will also be there 1/1-1/6 2005. Weather has always been either cold or freezing cold (LOL) when I've been there. Every trip I've worn a hat and gloves at least some of the time. Definitely not swimming weather, but since I don't swim, it's OK. Crowds are very low, but I've noticed a higher percentage of college-aged singles in some places. Some of the Christmas decorations may still be up, at least for the first few days you're there. Osborne Lights are due to go until 1/2, so I'm really glad to be able to see those. If it's really cold the day you want to go to AK, you might want to wait until later in the day. The day I went it was so cold lots of things weren't out yet and the first show of FOLK was cancelled. Second show went on, but was "modified" due to the extreme cold weather.

We just went Jan 10-15 2004, our first day was FREEZING(Saturday) Sunday started off chilly but by noon we took off our sweatshirts and just wore T shirts. By Wednesday we were swimming, we are from PA so 70's is fine to swim for us with the heated pool. We enjoyed ourselves SO MUCH we are going back, my kids were 5 and 19 months in 2004

Have fun

We have been to WDW in every month but February and March, and January is by far the month with the lightest crowds. All rides and attractions were walk ons when we were there (the last week of January 2004). It gets cold at night, but during the day the temperatures varied from the high 50s to the high 70s. We prefer warmer weather, since we all love to swim. Its the only thing that would prevent us from returning in January.
